The Program Leader will plan, organize, and direct the Club’s Art programs, and maintain the Arts department space within the policies of Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco (BGCSF). The Program Leader will be accountable for achieving the outlined goals and outcomes of BGCSF’s program requirements.This non-exempt position is part-time (25) hours weekly during the school year; (40) hours weekly during summer, supporting the Don Fisher Clubhouse. This position is benefits-eligible.ScheduleMondays & Wednesdays: 12:00pm - 5:00pmTuesdays & Thursdays: 1:00pm - 6:00pmFridays: 2:00pm - 7:00pmKey ResponsibilitiesProgram Coordination/ManagementOffer fine arts and crafts program experiences for youth ages 6 - 18 daily, including but not limited to STEM/STEAM, drawing, painting, photography, printmaking, etc.Conduct at least two Club exhibitions per year and participate in the larger Boys & Girls Clubs of America's annual arts competitions.Assist the Assistant Clubhouse Director in bulletin board preparation and other visual facility art projects/initiatives.Plan and organize department programs, subject to the approval of the Clubhouse Director.Supervise the maintenance and operation of the department’s physical property, ensuring the safety of club members at all times.Support art-related partnerships, including attending meetings, building relationships, and ensuring proper attendance and data collection.Lesson Planning: Developing age-appropriate lesson plans and activities that promote personal growth, educational achievement, and character development. Mentoring: Serving as a positive role model and mentor to young participants, fostering their self-esteem and personal development.Clubhouse Cultivation: Creating standards and setting expectations based on mutual respect between staff and the community we serve.RequirementsRequirementsMinimum Requirements2 years of youth development experience in the Arts working with youth ages 6-18 years old in a youth development setting.Possess the ability to create strong relationships and outcomes based curriculum with youth.Strong positive behavior skills with youth with ability to manage and maintain high expectations.Be an effective communicator and self-starter.Have the ability to create and follow systems and procedures in a high-paced environment.Strong oral and written communication skills.Demonstrated organizational skills.Current Red Cross first aid/CPR certification (or within 90 days of employment).Comfortable driving company vehicles - 10-person van.Preferred QualificationsCandidates with education or coursework in Early Childhood Development, Education, Art or related fields.Proven leadership or mentorship experience.Be Bilingual.Physical RequirementsMust be able to lift 25 lbsMust be able to stand for at least 2 hours consecutivelyMust be able to sit at a computer workstation for long periods of timeBenefitsComprehensive Health Benefits + Employer Contributions401K + 7% Employer Contribution After One Year of ServiceEmployee Assistance Program: In-Person Counseling + 24/7 Confidential Mental Health SupportEducation AssistancePre-tax Transportation Savings AccountFlexible Spending AccountPaid Time Off + Paid HolidaysMandatory summer + winter Weeklong Organization-wide ClosuresProfessional Development OpportunitiesPayThe wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered inmaking compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training;licensure and certifications; and other business and BGCSF needs. At BGCSF, our decisions arebased on other factors and dependent on circumstances for each position. Depending on theneed and requirement of the position, an individual could be hired at or near the entry-level, mid-level or top of the range for their role and compensation.
