Senior Mainframe Systems Programmer – zVSERemote - United StatesJR012218Position SummaryThe z/VSE Mainframe Systems Programmer will provide support for on-going project that require the installation, testing, and implementation of new z/VSE operating systems and other ‘system’ software. They are self-starters and provide mentoring for day-to-day activities while maintaining on-going projects that may include installation, maintenance, testing, debugging, procedural documentation for their areas of expertise. Research and evaluation of new software and hardware products, assisting team members and other areas with technical questions and problem resolution. Monitoring and tuning of systems software.They require in-depth knowledge of z/VSE components such as POWER with knowledge on setup/configuration. Detailed knowledge of support products such as FAQS, Condor, CA DYNAM, Velocity z/VPS, VTAM, TCP/IP, PRSM, EPIC DASD and TAPE management, VTS, security, monitoring systems, experience of running z/VSE in both LPAR and under z/VM, etc. Experience installing IDMS and CICS is also desired.Key Areas of Focus for this RoleProvide thought leadership within the Global Technical Systems Business UnitProvides Technical support for hardware and software solutionsPossess communication skills to participate in client/team/Business unit meetings as well as providing documentation for client operational meetingsEnhance the performance of others through mentoring and guidingKeep abreast of changes in the standards, technologies or methodologiesUpdate weekly SW dashboards/scorecardsProvide risk assessment and risk managementReview assignments for accuracy and quality where applicableFacilitate and coordinate of software releases/upgrades or large projectsCollaborate with other departments, teams, and clientsAdhere to completion of personnel, departmental, and company goalsUpgrade/maintain multiple z/VSE operating systems across diverse environmentsUpgrade/maintain additional third-party productsz/VSE tuning for capacity and throughputOn-call 24 x 7 rotation for z/VSE supportWhat the Ideal Candidate Brings to this RoleRequired Qualifications help to assure new Associates are set up for success in their role with Ensono. Please note that placement in the range may vary based on numerous factors including but not limited to skills, experience, internal equity, and business needs.
