To learn how to apply for a faculty or staff position using the Career worklet, please review this tip sheet.Sr. Research AnalystHYBRID Option Available*** (Will be required to report on-site and train on-site)The University of Miami/UHealth Division Neuromuscular Program in the Department of Neurology has an exciting opportunity for a Full-time or Part-time statistical programmer to join an active clinical and translational research group focused on therapy development for Lou Gehrig’s disease (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or ALS) in Miami, FL.Core Job SummaryThe statistical programmer will be an integral member of the research team and provide programming support for the cleaning, summarizing/reporting, and analysis of research data. The statistical programmer will work most closely with the biostatistician and data managers.Core ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement strategies for real-time data QCConduct routine data checks to ensure data integrity and completenessWrite SAS macros and programs for data cleaning, reporting (e.g. tables, listings, figures), and the creation of analysis datasetsAssist in the design and implementation of procedures (e.g. via programming, restructuring of data files, expansion of database components) to improve efficiency and support growth of the research programPerform statistical analyses defined in statistical analysis plans, as neededPerform other related duties and responsibilities, as assignedThis list of duties and responsibilities is not intended to be all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties or responsibilities as necessary.Core QualificationsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in statistics, biostatistics, mathematics, computer science, engineering, or a closely related analytical fieldExperience in SAS programmingExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to multi-task and prioritize as necessary to meet deadlinesAbility to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced and dynamic environmentStrong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detailExperience with relational databases (preferably MySQL) desiredKnowledge of SQL desiredThe University of Miami offers competitive salaries and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, tuition remission and more.UHealth-University of Miami Health System, South Florida's only university-based health system, provides leading-edge patient care powered by the ground breaking research and medical education at the Miller School of Medicine.
