With over 500 commercial field technicians in the U.S. and more than 7,000 globally, we are committed to delivering exceptional customer experiences through continuous training, support, and career development.Position Overview: Lead Commercial HVAC TechnicianAs a Lead Commercial HVAC Technician, you’ll play a key leadership role supporting your Regional Service Manager and team. You’ll ensure operational excellence, safety, and quality service delivery across your assigned region.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct monthly audits to ensure compliance with company standardsPerform truck inspections (cleanliness, equipment, PPE)Conduct site assessments (e.g., roof cleanliness, proper disposal of materials)Verify quality of repairs and installationsEnsure team members have proper PPE and coordinate replenishmentApprove vendors for operational needsAssist with technician vacation planning and on-call schedulingLead PM completion efforts and ensure accurate documentationSupport training coordination for techniciansPerform other duties as assigned by the Division ManagerLocation: Field-based role in Washington, DC with occasional travel for training or meetings.Qualifications Experience5+ years of commercial HVAC and refrigeration experience2+ years in a supervisory or lead technician roleProven ability to manage teams, conduct audits, and ensure safety and quality complianceExperience with preventive maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and equipment changeoutsCertificationsEPA Universal Certification (required)Additional certifications such as NATE or HVAC Excellence are a plusPhysical RequirementsClimb ladders while carrying up to 30 lbs.Lift up to 75 lbs. and maneuver in confined spacesWear required PPEAdditional RequirementsValid driver’s licenseAbility to pass drug, background, and driving record checksMeet enhanced security clearance requirementsFlexibility for overtime and occasional travelSkills & AbilitiesProficiency in servicing, installing, and troubleshooting:Commercial HVAC systemsRefrigeration systems and ice machinesChillers, cooling towers, water source heat pumpsStrong customer service and communication skillsAbility to work independently and manage time effectivelyFamiliarity with light commercial equipmentExperience with industry software (e.g., ServiceTitan, FastField, ServiceChannel – preferred but not required)Why BGIS ITS Is Your Ideal EmployerCareer Growth: Tailored training, certifications, and advancement opportunitiesSupportive Culture: Collaborative team environment with robust resourcesImpactful Work: Help commercial facilities run smoothly and efficientlyOur company culture includes a robust mix of sound business practices and employee initiatives that promote personal and professional development, work/life balance, health and wellness and community involvement.The Company is an equal opportunity employer.
