This position will engage with key stakeholders at academic and community health centers, partner with cross-functional team members, and report to the MSL Director, Immunology Rheumatology Medical Science Liaisons in the respective region.OverviewJoin us as we transform immunology and deliver medicines that help autoimmune patients get their lives back. argenx is expanding to reach more patients through a rich pipeline of differentiated assets, led by VYVGART, our first-in-class neonatal Fc receptor blocker approved for the treatment of gMG, with potential to treat patients across dozens of severe autoimmune diseases. We strive to inspire and grow our company, our partnerships, our science, and our people, because when we do, we deliver more for patients.Roles And ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain the highest scientific and medical expertise of relevant diseases, compounds, development indications and respective treatment plansBe acknowledged internally and externally as an expert in aligned areasPartner with Medical Affairs, HEOR, Patient Advocacy and other relevant stakeholders to create a thorough internal understanding of pipeline indication opportunitiesIdentify potential high-impact medical research projects and publication opportunities (e.g., white papers to inform treatment guidelines) in line with argenx identified areas of interestAttend appropriate local, national, and international meetings to gather intelligence, develop productive collaborations, ensuring insights are shared within argenxKOL EngagementDevelop and maintain relationships with healthcare Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) within Rheumatology and other relevant specialties to collaborate on research projects, advisory boards and peer-to-peer educational initiativesCollaborate with KOLs on evidence generation including sponsored, translational, and outcomes researchIdentify, recommend and support principal investigators for on-going and planned clinical trialsPromote clinical trial engagement through scientific exchange and presentationsEnsure timely and informative scientific/medical exchanges and education for healthcare communities on topics like disease awareness, diagnostics, treatment and adherence that reflect scientific data and research objectives, compliantly and in line with medical strategyTailor engagement strategies by recognizing stakeholder archetypes (e.g., academic vs community) and their informational needsRespond to questions from the healthcare community with integrity and adherence to all legal, regulatory, and argenx guidelines, policies & proceduresCross-functional CollaborationEnsure close working relationships with cross-functional field and other internal partners to support launch readiness and patient-focused operationsSkills And CompetenciesCross-therapeutic area, portfolio-oriented mindset and strong aptitude for working with cross-functional teamsScientific and customer-centric mindset with a track record of delivering resultsAbility to build relationships with external stakeholders (e.g., medical experts, healthcare professionals)Effective collaborator on cross-functional teams with diverse technical backgroundsAbility to quickly understand complex disease areas, treatments and clinical development plansThorough understanding of clinical trial phases and executionProactive problem solving and ability to translate territory/organizational needs into actionAutonomy to assess priorities and tailor decisions in real timeWillingness to travel within region, USA, and globally as neededEducation, Experience And QualificationsScientific, healthcare or medical degree (PharmD, PhD, MD, DO)3+ years of field-based MSL experience in biopharmaceutical industryLocation preference: targeted cities or within reasonable range of a major airport within the territoryStrong clinical and scientific knowledge in rheumatology; immunology or other rare diseases is a plusExperience supporting clinical trial sites as an MSL to support clinical trial milestones is preferredStrong knowledge of the US healthcare landscape and hospital systemsUnderstanding of compliance, legal and regulatory landscape related to interactions with healthcare professionalsAbility to translate market research and data-driven insights into actionable strategic initiativesProficient in Microsoft Office Suite and VEEVAAt argenx, all applicants are welcomed in an inclusive environment and will receive equal consideration for employment without discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, protected veteran status, disability, or any other legally protected characteristics. argenx is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.Before you submit your application, CV or any other personal details to us, please review our argenx Privacy Notice for Job Applicants to learn more about how argenx will handle and protect your personal data.
