Everything we do comes from a place of compassion and anizational RelationshipsAccountable to the Clinical Department ManagerPosition RequirementsPatient Satisfaction/Responding to PatientsAdequate scheduling of time off / limit unscheduled absencesRespond to telephone inquiries relating to department servicesReturn patient calls promptlyProvide a clean and comfortable environment for patientsPerform all duties in a safe, timely, and efficient mannerPrepare patients for examinationsGreet and check-in patientsFollow patient verification protocolProvide a high level of customer serviceAccurately obtain vitals (blood pressure, pulse, respirations, temperature)Accurately obtain patient height, weight, medication list, and allergiesAssist with chart preparation; duties can vary by department. Training, validation, and documentation of competencies by a Registered Nurse or physician is required prior to delegation of tasks. Delegation of duties is not permitted until CMA/CNA has satisfactorily completed their 90-day probationary period.Maintain rooms, equipment and suppliesClean rooms and change linens per clinic policyEmpty exam rooms of instruments that need to be cleaned; secure nurse’s station cabinets nightlyDispose of all biohazard material per clinic policySterilize and clean equipment and supplies per established protocols; ability to sterilize requires appropriate training and sign-off by a Registered Nurse or CSTEnsure maintenance of equipment is maintainedClean exam room and nurses station counters and chairs per clinic policySafety: Ensure patient and staff safetyFollow OSHA guidelinesFollow universal precautions when caring for patients; use PPE as directedFollow all PSC policies when caring for patientsProvide wheelchairs and assist patients with ambulation as neededAsk for assistance when needed for lifting or transferring patientsAbility to recognize mistakes and communicate immediately to supervising MD, DO, Clinical Lead and Dept ManagerProactively assist in fiscal management of clinic resourcesAssist with maintaining established par levels on regularly used suppliesAvoid the need to overnight items or pay increased shipping fees for rush ordersNotify manager or discuss with peers blocks of time when there are no appointments to maximize downtime completing tasks that are difficult during a busy clinicWork collaboratively to promote clinic patient volumeAssist MDs, department manager and marketing with department promotions as neededLook for ways to expand the clinic services and patient base; discuss with department manager as neededMaintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulationsKeep equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance and calling for repairsUpdate job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading professional publicationsMaintain a professional and cooperative relationship with all colleaguesOther duties as assignedPhysical RequirementsAbility to carry/lift up to 20 poundsMoving, lifting or transferring of patients may involve lifting up to 50 pounds; assist with weights over 100 poundsAbility to stand for extended periodsFine motor skillsVisual acuityThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
