DescriptionUnder minimal supervision, the incumbent provides leadership to the retail sales and account management teams. Articulate the distinctive advantages of products and devises strategies to maximize market exposure and product success. The incumbent will be responsible to perform qualitative and quantitative research regarding the management, trends, productivity, sales, and profitability for their scope of responsibility. The incumbent oversees the coordination of sales team training, sets sales goals, builds customer service metrics to drive optimal results and coordinates resources to ensure all customers and distributors are adequately served. The incumbent delegates to team members and develops goals and quotas to measure the performance for each member of the sales team. The position requires a strong understanding of The Home Depot, Lowes, Walmart and Costco with relationships at DMM/MVP level established. This position is working from offices in Salt Lake City. Essential Job FunctionsManages profitability on products, programs, promotions, and customer discountsEstablishes and meets yearly objectives with respect to programs, pricing, error reduction, sales projections, shipping requirements, and gross profitability standardsManages forecasting, pricing, service and coordination between sales team and other product line business unitsSecures high quality field/market intelligence and establishes close relationships with regional, district, store and service managers at key accountsDevelops deep and broad relationships with key accounts across multiple departments: internet, marketing, direct sourcing, forecasting, replenishment, logistics, store service and quality; and merchant and merchandising teamsManages and oversees the sales timeline for accountsOversees new product and program presentations, through-register performance of products and categoriesOversees coordination meetings amongst sales teams and associatesCreates and standardized reporting for products, categories, and customer presentationsEstablishes and monitors information and metrics in regard to service, sales and rep organizations (where applicable)Ensures sales team is always at the forefront of target marketsAttends customer presentations as requiredOversees product comparison activities and reportsIncreases brand awareness through presentation and product launches to the customerWorks across sales channels to maximize success and leverage opportunitiesWorks within established budget to meet performance standards for team and products Knowledge, Skills, And AbilitiesMust have proven track record of sales, pricing, leadership, continuous improvement, managing budgets, and highly developed negotiation skillsAbility to manage others in a way that improves their performance showing sensitivity, tact, and professionalismAbility to work well with minimal supervision and in a team environmentAbility to find, gather, and collect information or data, evaluate information against a set of standardsUnderstanding of principles, theories, and practices of sales and marketingAbility to observe, measure, and evaluate outcomes against goals and objectives and directs the development and implementation of solutions and organizational changesAbility to communicate and understand information and ideas clearly and concisely both verbally and in writingAbility to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and proceduresAbility to facilitate or lead meetings, presentations, trainings, teams, or work groups to encourage participation, build mutual trust, respect and cooperation among participants using acceptable methods or techniquesStrong PC skills including Microsoft office applicationsExperience with profit and loss statements RequirementsBachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited university10+ years of experience in sales and management, or an equivalent combination of education and experienceTravel required 25% of the timeMust possess a valid driver license Physical And Safety RequirementsSedentary: Typically, the associate may sit comfortably to perform the work; however, there may be some walking, standing, bending, carrying light items, driving an automobile, etc. Special physical demands are not required to perform the work.Everyday Risks: Risks found in the typical office setting, which is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated, e.g., safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations, etc.The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
