OverviewThe Chief Performance Officer oversees the Performance & Budget (OPB) office and provides citywide leadership in strategic planning, budgeting, performance management, procurement, intergovernmental relations, and sustainability. The new Chief Performance Officer will report directly to the Assistant City Manager.The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in local government budgeting, performance management, and strategic planning—ideally in a High-Performance Organization (HPO) environment. They will be a forward-thinking leader who fosters innovation, promotes accountability, and empowers their team to grow. The City seeks a candidate who is a skilled facilitator/collaborator who can lead both executive and Commission conversations that align data and dollars with strategy and community input.ResponsibilitiesOversees the Performance & Budget (OPB) office and provides citywide leadership in strategic planning, budgeting, performance management, procurement, intergovernmental relations, and sustainability.Reports directly to the Assistant City Manager.Leads executive and Commission conversations that align data and dollars with strategy and community input.QualificationsREQUIRED:Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related fieldTen (10) years of progressively responsible experience in public administrationAt least five (5) years of recent supervisory/management experience in local government budgetingValid Driver’s LicensePREFERRED:Master’s degree in Public Administration, Business, or related disciplineExperience with performance management systems, strategic planning, and Priority-Based Budgeting (PBB)Professional development such as Leadership ICMA, Certified Public Manager (CPM), or similar programChange management or process improvement certifications (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma)Experience with procurement systems, grant strategy, and “What Works Cities” certification #J-18808-Ljbffr
