The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the field and possess a comprehensive understanding of Commercial Lines of Insurance. The Commercial Lines Placement Specialist will be responsible for supporting the sales process, retaining and growing the business by providing marketing support, assisting Sales Producers in renewing, negotiating the most competitive pricing and writing new business, submitting comprehensive data and information to markets, and communicating with all carriers on accounts.ResponsibilitiesProactively solicits new and renewal business from Sales ProducersCreate and develop trust and frequent use of the marketing departmentAct as a go-to resource for carrier information including appetite guides, carrier brochures, contacts, and other important informationAttend, participate in, and lead monthly renewal meetings with Sales Producers and Account ManagersIdentify accounts to be marketed through the marketing departmentReview applications and obtain all information from Sales Producers or Account ManagersCollaborate with Sales Producers to provide customers with adequate insurance to value on property, satisfy co-insurance requirements, correctly classify exposures, address loss history, and recommend safety programsSubmit complete market submissions including loss runs, spreadsheets, supplemental applications, financial statements, photos, and brochuresKeep Sales Producers informed of markets where information was submittedMaintain a marketing spreadsheet and create cover letters describing risk, losses & controls, target premium, and due datesWork with Underwriters to confirm receipt of submissions and determine any additional information requiredCompare quotes and review with Sales Producer; prepare and complete proposals and assist with sales presentationsProvide a copy of the proposal to the Account Manager with correct premiums, commissions, order to bind coverage, and instructions for binder issuance, certificates, and ID cardsQualificationsMinimum of 5 years of experience in Sales and/or Sales Support within Commercial Lines InsuranceComprehensive understanding of Property and Casualty insuranceActive Property & Casualty License, CPCU, CISR, and/or CIC designationsStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamExcellent organizational and time management skillsProven track record of managing a portfolio of high net worth clientsDemonstrated ability to provide high level of customer-focused, high integrity serviceKnowledge of industry trends and regulationsAbility to maintain positive relationships with internal colleagues, carriers and vendorsInterested in hearing more?
