With the power of many curious minds, together we can solve the world’s most complex challenges and deliver more impact together.Role description:Arcadis is seeking an experienced Environmental Permitting Project Manager to support and continue to grow our expanding business in the Western U.S. with a focus on power and energy sectors. Candidates must have experience preparing environmental documents and reports, including technical reports, National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documents, and permit applications; and must have an understanding of managing energy projects regulated by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). The successful candidate will be engaged in both client development, through the management and growth of new and existing client relationships, and in project delivery.Role accountabilities:As an Environmental Permitting Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing the life cycle of environmental permitting projects. This will include leading proposal scope and cost development; managing project budgets, schedules, and risk; client and regulatory agency coordination; and leading technical delivery and providing senior review of client deliverables. Successful candidates will have expertise in providing permitting strategies and guidance to both clients and internal teams. As such, experience with the Clean Water Act (CWA), NEPA, FERC regulations and reporting requirements, and the Endangered Species Act (ESA), as well as previous working knowledge with the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), U.S. Forest Service (USFS), and relevant state agencies in the western US, is addition to project management and delivery responsibilities, you will also be involved in supporting and/or managing the growth of new and existing client relationships in conjunction with business development and account leaders. This will include leveraging existing client relationships, supporting client account teams, and leading pursuits and proposal opportunities, including scope and cost development.The position will require a candidate to work collaboratively with a diverse team and have the capacity to balance varying priorities. Arcadis offers a flexible working environment and follows a hybrid work structure. A successful candidate can expect to work remotely and from the office, as needed, based on demands of project and client teams. This role could require the ability to travel up to 10 percent.Qualifications & Experience:Required qualifications for the role include:Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, biology, ecology, or similar environmental disciplineA minimum of 10 years total experience in the environmental consulting industry. Associated experience with environmental agencies and departmental roles with commercial entities may be considered equivalentAt least 4 years of experience managing environmental permitting projects, technical teams, schedules/budgets, and the delivery of high-quality work productsDemonstrated experience leading teams and working in collaboration with biologists, cultural resource specialists, planners, and other specialists in developing high quality documents for environmental projectsAt least 4 years of experience leading project pursuits, including direct client communication and preparation of project scopes, schedules, and cost estimatesDemonstrated experience coordinating with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies in the Western U.S. related to power and energy projectsExperience working with the USFS, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, BLM, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and state agenciesDemonstrated FERC experience, including Blanket Prior Notice and Section 7 applications, and the preparation of Environmental ReportsPreferred Qualifications:Master’s degree in planning, Geography, Environmental Management, or related fieldExperience supporting and/or managing client development including identifying opportunities, developing, and maintaining client relationshipsFERC and local permitting experience working in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Wyoming, Colorado, and/or NevadaWhy Arcadis?We can only achieve our goals when everyone is empowered to be their best.
