OverviewDirector, Technical Standards – RISC-V Hardware at Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. The role focuses on working with internal and external partners to improve and evolve industry technical standards while representing Qualcomm in standardization forums. The candidate will understand semiconductor industry landscapes, identify existing and emerging standards for Qualcomm to focus on, collaborate with external partners to develop and promote standards, formulate and execute Qualcomm’s strategy for semiconductor standards, and work with attorneys to file patents protecting novel IP.ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with internal teams and external partners to advance industry technical standardsRepresent Qualcomm as a delegate in standardization forumsIdentify and prioritize existing and emerging standards for Qualcomm to pursueDevelop and promote standards through external partnershipsFormulate, maintain, and execute Qualcomm’s strategy for semiconductor standardsCoordinate with attorneys to file patents protecting novel IP aspects of inventionsMinimum QualificationsMaster/'s degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering10+ years of ASIC design, verification, or related work experience7+ years of experience with standards bodiesStrong networking and influencing skillsPreferred QualificationsUnderstanding of semiconductor technologiesUnderstanding of international semiconductor landscapes and strategic incentives of major playersSemiconductor development experience across architecture, design, verification, validation, manufacturing, silicon qualification, etc.Familiarity with Electronic Design Automation (EDA)Understanding of open-source licensing models and ecosystemsFamiliarity with Qualcomm semiconductor products and technologiesExperience or network in research and academiaStrong documentation, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills2+ years working with operating budgets and/or project financials3+ years collaborating with senior leadership4+ years in a technical leadership role7+ years of experience with semiconductor standards organizations and forums (e.g., RISC-V, JEDEC, UEFI, Accellera, Si2, SEMI, OCP, ISO, IEC, IEEE, INCITS, GSA, SIA, IMEC, SRC)8+ years in system design, modeling, or testingEducation RequirementsRequired: Master/'s degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical EngineeringPreferred: Doctorate in Computer Engineering or Electrical EngineeringAdditional InformationGlobal travel for standards organization forums is expectedPay Range: $212,800.00 - $352,400.00Qualcomm is an equal opportunity employer; accommodations are available for applicants with disabilities during the hiring process upon request #J-18808-Ljbffr
