We support customers throughout the Department of Defense and U.S. Government in building innovative new tools to deliver unique world-class data exploitation capabilities.SciTec has an immediate opportunity for a talented Chief Engineer to support our programs delivering Next- Missile Warning software. This is a unique opportunity to join a small business delivering core capabilities for defense. You will work within a fast-paced team delivering end-to-end software processing of Overhead Persistent InfraRed (OPIR) sensor data for Missile Warning, Missile Defense, Battlespace Awareness, and Technical Intelligence. Candidates will develop, implement, and run engineering processes in support of a large Agile software development program. Candidates will provide engineering leadership to development teams including subcontractors and will be responsible for ensuring team work products meet program requirements. SciTec seeks a candidate who will thrive in a collaborative environment where they can solve challenging engineering problems in support of critical security objectives. ResponsibilitiesArchitect and design systems: Define the end-to-end data processing architecture, from raw data ingestion to product delivery, ensuring scalability, security, and performance.Guide technical development: Lead the engineering teams developing algorithms for data processing, calibration, and analysis, including implementing AI/ML models.Establish standards: Set technical standards and processes for data handling, quality, and integrity to ensure all system development complies with mission and regulatory requirements.Technical oversight: Support engineering review boards and provide technical direction to ensure the integrity of deliverables and the overall systemCommunicate with stakeholders: Act as the primary technical interface between the engineering team, program management, senior leadership, and external customers. Present complex technical concepts and project status clearly.Manage risk identification, mitigation strategies, and technical problem resolutionProvide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams, fostering innovation and high-quality deliverablesEnsure all system components meet operational, reliability, security, and performance requirementsServe as the principal technical liaison between the program and government program officesOther duties as assigned QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline; Master’s or PhD.Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in aerospace, defense, or government contracting, specifically in OPIR systemsProven track record of leading complex systems engineering projects and cross-functional teamsSecret Security clearance is mandatoryExcellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skillsCandidates who have one or more of the following skills will beDomain experience with remote sensor systems or ground architectures, especially experience with OPIR sensor processing.Experience supporting systems engineering programs in the defense and aerospace fieldsExperience with Agile software development methods.Familiarity with the Earned Value Management System.Active TS/SCI Security clearance *Resumes, Cover Letters, and Applications which are generated by AI will not be considered for employment.Colorado : In any materials you submit, you may redact or remove -identifying information such as , date of birth, or dates of school attendance or graduation.
