The GenESIS team drives the convergence of mission-critical embedded systems and cutting-edge Blue Origin Generative AI technology.Your Impact As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll develop essential platform software (drivers, middleware/IO, and more) and innovative tools for varied spaceflight systems, enabling Blue Origin business units to safely and reliably transport people and payloads to orbit and beyond. Relocation assistance is available for those moving to Blue Origin This Position, You WillJoin an exciting development program where you’ll gain hands-on experience across the entire software development lifecycleBuild cutting-edge platform software for embedded avionics systems, including device drivers, middleware, and applicationsPartner with hardware and systems engineers to shape software requirements and enable seamless integration across hardware platformsContribute to architecture and design discussions that influence the future of embedded systemsDrive innovation through performance optimization and scalable, portable software solutionsEnsure high quality via comprehensive testing, debugging, and performance analysis across varied hardware environmentsCreate clear documentation including requirements, design specifications, and API referencesMentor through collaborative code reviews and constructive feedbackIntegrate avionics platform software into a varied portfolio of groundbreaking productsMinimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field10+ years of experience in embedded software developmentProficiency in C/C++ programmingDeep understanding of real-time systems, multitasking, and synchronization in embedded environmentsExperience with software loaders, device drivers, middleware (I/O, BIT), hardware abstraction, and low-level interfacesKnowledge of multiple hardware architectures (ARM, x86) and RTOS/Linux embedded environmentsExperience with CI/CD environments and tools such as Gitlab, Jira, ConfluenceStrong problem-solving skills and collaborative teamwork experienceExcellent communication skills and commitment to inclusive team culturePreferred QualificationsFamiliarity with NASA Core Flight Software (CFE)Knowledge of communication protocols (SPI, I2C, UART, CAN) and networking protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, MQTT)Experience in safety-critical software development within aerospace, automotive, or similar industriesCompensationCA applicants: $177,567.00-$248,593.80; CO applicants: $163,272.00-$228,579.75; WA applicants: $177,567.00-$248,593.80.
