OverviewWe are seeking a defense industry-specific, Senior Embedded Software Engineer with expertise in C/C++, to join our Satellite Systems team. Top Secret (TS/SCI) Level Security Clearance required.Location: REMOTE. Periodic travel required.ResponsibilitiesDevelop, integrate, and test software for satellite systems in collaboration with customers and vendors.Ensure the operation and maintenance of mission-critical software for command, control, monitoring, and telemetry of systems on satellites.Work within an agile software development team, guiding features from requirement development through design, implementation, and terface with customers, suppliers, application users, and other technical and support personnel.Oversee the full software lifecycle, including design, development, test, delivery, and maintenance.Adhere to modern DevSecOps development practices and utilize Agile frameworks.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of software with project goals and requirements.Familiarity with standard satellite frameworks including CFS, OMS, and UCI.Perform thorough testing and troubleshooting for software reliability and functionality.Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous code quality improvement.Must-haves / QualificationsBachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or other related discipline and typically 10 or more years of relevant experienceRelated experience may be considered in lieu of required educationA higher-level degree may substitute for experienceDemonstrated knowledge of engineering principles and practicesExperience working in multi-disciplinary teamsProficiency with DevOps and CI/CD methodologies.Agile development experienceExperience with satellite system development, particularly in distributed command and control, data processing, or mission planning softwareProficiency in programming such as C, C++ in an embedded LINUX environmentCross-disciplinary knowledge in software engineering, hardware engineering, integration, test engineering, quality engineering, and configuration/data managementFamiliarity with test and security milestones (TRR, FAT/SAT, IATT, ATO)Familiarity with development milestones (SRR, PDR, CDR)Experience with various aspects of satellite system software (mission management, planning and scheduling, command and telemetry, satellite operations, flight dynamics models)Guidance navigation control experienceKALMAN FiltersDevelopment and deployment of simulation (software), emulation (hardware) for test and integrationFDIR (Fault, Detection, Isolation, and Recovery) familiarityFamiliarity with strict embedded systems hardware and software timingFamiliarity with satellite command constructs and frameworks including, but not limited to, immediate commands, timed commands, and sequencingTelemetry and on-board data managementType I Encryption and key management experienceStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsExcellent communication and teamwork capabilitiesAbility to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environmentA commitment to continuous learning and development in software engineering practicesMin.
