Join to apply for the Senior Civil Engineer - Aviation & Federal (Atlanta) role at Burns & McDonnell3 days ago Be among the first 25 applicantsDescriptionThe Senior Civil Engineer will lead civil design project teams to create world-class designs for various projects including power, process, corporate, healthcare, pipeline, airports, institutional, industrial, manufacturing, government, and military facilities. The role involves leading the project team throughout the design and construction process, adapting civil plans according to budget constraints, design factors, or client needs.Lead civil design of projects from conceptual phase through completion, aligning with project needs and requirements set by project managers.Prepare civil equipment specifications, data sheets, RFQs, technical bid summaries, and purchase recommendations.Review civil vendor drawings; coordinate data interface with suppliers, clients, other engineering disciplines, detailers, and designers.Participate in developing project schedule, scope, budget, staffing, and construction planning. Manage change orders effectively.Apply expert knowledge of civil concepts, practices, codes, and procedures. Compile studies and reports. Write specifications.Use knowledge and experience to develop non-standard design solutions for complex projects.Review production drawings for compliance with standards and constructability.Oversee construction administration, including resolving installation issues, calculations, inspections, and testing.Lead field inspections, measurements, and calculations for clients.Prepare and present technical reports for clients and publications.Build relationships with clients, contractors, and develop new business opportunities, ensuring customer satisfaction.Participate in sales and marketing efforts, leading key pursuits.Develop cost proposals, qualification statements, and manage project budgets and performance reports.Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to civil engineering staff.Ensure QA/QC adherence and effective communication with other disciplines.Maintain compliance with safety policies and perform other duties as assigned.QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related from an ABET-accredited program with 7 years of experience; EPC experience preferred.Or, Bachelor's in Civil Engineering Technology with successful FE exam completion and 7 years of experience; EPC experience preferred.Or, Master's Degree in Civil Engineering with 6 years of experience; EPC experience preferred.Expert knowledge of engineering techniques, strong computer skills (AutoCAD, MicroStation, BIM, Civil 3D, etc.).Excellent communication skills.Experience leading large projects and delegating tasks.Critical thinking, detail-oriented, team player.Ability to review detailed engineering documents.Ability to travel.PE License preferred.This job posting will remain open until filled.
