Job Summary As a Spacecraft RF Payload Engineer, you will design and develop state of the art space-based RF payloads for our customers. This includes communications systems to link satellites to each other and to ground stations, and to perform critical missions on-orbit. You will work in a team-based environment to tackle the challenges of developing flexible RF subsystems for small spacecraft on demanding timelines. This position/'s internal job code is Electrophysics Engr/Scientist. Our team is currently hiring for Level 2-3. Responsibilities Leading space vehicle mission trade studies related to communications links Identify & define communications system requirements Identify appropriate communications technologies to meet requirements Collaborating with teammates across multiple disciplines to design, build, test and deliver spacecraft communication products for multiple programs Develop Millennium/'s own communications technologies from concept to flight readiness Create communications subsystem manufacturing, integration and verification documents Leading communication subsystem manufacturing, integration and verification Operate communications systems on orbit Other job duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications Bachelor/'s Degree in electrical engineering 3-5 years of experience with space or aviation RF & Communications system design, analysis, subsystem component selection, and system evaluation Experience calculating link budgets including atmospheric & environmental effects Experience performing antenna design & analysis including sizing, patterns, gains, and usage Experience evaluating and selecting RF components (e.g. LNA, PA sizing and selection) Strong bias for getting things done with collaboration but minimal regimentation in a new emerging aerospace environment This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret Clearance Post-Start is required. Preferred Qualifications Experience designing, implementing and testing algorithms for software defined radios Experience with legacy and emerging satellite communications modulation and coding Experience designing, implementing and testing antennas Experience designing, implementing and testing radios from piece parts level Experience with optical communications links Experience with the CCSDS standards Master/'s Degree or higher Current SSBI Summary Pay-Range Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only of what is reasonably expected to be paid for the position. Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. Level 2: $85,850 - $126,250 Level 3: $104,550 - $153,750 Before Applying Millennium is DDTC-registered, ITAR-compliant Company. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
