OverviewBe the Bridge Between Design and Reality — join PDS Tech as a Liaison Engineer in Aerospace. Location: Portland, OR. Job Type: Full-Time Consultant (12 Months). Starting Pay: $65.65/hour. Schedule: Variable shifts – 1st, 2nd, 3rd – including weekends. Work Setting: 100% Onsite.Build What Others Only Dream About. PDS Tech Commercial is seeking highly skilled Senior Liaison Engineers to support a leading aerospace program in Portland, Oregon. As a Liaison Engineer, you’ll be in the factory, on the floor, making real-time decisions that shape the future of flight. Your expertise will translate complex engineering designs into tangible, high-performance aircraft components. This role involves hands-on leadership to solve high-impact technical challenges and support production teams at the cutting edge of aerospace manufacturing.ResponsibilitiesBe the frontline engineering presence on the production floor.Analyze non-conformances, lead root cause investigations, and develop engineering dispositions.Collaborate with production, quality, and design teams to ensure design intent and safety.Develop and implement engineering solutions across the entire product lifecycle.Represent engineering in supplier interactions, customer communications, and field support.Design and analyze structural repairs, support tooling, and develop test procedures.Navigate complex GD&T, material properties, machining limitations, and functional testing.Required QualificationsBachelor’s or Master’s in Engineering from an ABET or equivalent accredited institution.10+ years in structures, systems, design, or production engineering.5+ years of prior Engineering Material Review Board (MRB) experience.Ability to access information or facilities subject to ITAR and/or EAR regulations.Willingness and ability to work all three shifts and weekends as needed.Preferred ExpertiseDeep understanding of materials (steel, titanium, aluminum) and post-machining processes.Machining processes, limitations, surface prep, and load path analysis.GD&T interpretation and advanced metrology (Spatial Analyzer experience a plus).Gear/shaft mechanics, gear patterns, fit tolerances, and installation best practices.Familiarity with material processing like heat treat, plating, anodizing, and painting.Repair techniques: bushing installation, rework finishing, corrosion protection.Aircraft-level functional testing knowledge and troubleshooting.Why Join PDS TechAt PDS Tech Commercial, you’re joining a team that empowers innovation and excellence.
