OverviewSenior Structural Engineer (Facility Performance) — Dallas or Fort Worth, TX. IMEG is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to lead projects as a project manager or lead engineer for large and complex assignments, delivering engineering solutions and client guidance with minimal senior staff support.ResponsibilitiesLead assessment and design for structural systems, modification, strengthening, and repair of buildings, parking structures, bridges, and other infrastructure; develop detailed designs, specifications, and calculations compliant with code requirements and IMEG standards.Lead preservation, renovation, and adaptive reuse efforts for historic buildings and structures.Perform site assessments, generate detailed analyses and technical reports; communicate with clients to understand needs and manage project requirements.Provide in-process design reviews of structural systems, calculations, specifications, and project correspondence; apply IMEG quality control processes to ensure deliverables meet standards and client requirements.Provide technical training and mentoring; assist in resolving field issues with minimal senior staff support.Stay current with industry trends and contribute to research, development, and innovation within IMEG.Prioritize safety, maintain ethical and professional conduct, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve project goals.Participate in project interviews and presentations.Key Skills and AbilitiesMastery of design techniques and tools for modification, strengthening, and repair of structures, including experience with historic buildings.Strong technical and analytical skills in mechanics, materials, load paths, and design standards across steel, concrete, wood, and masonry.Leadership, mentoring, and client relationship development; ability to perform final quality checks and to work collaboratively.Excellent written and oral communication; attention to detail and problem-solving; adaptability to new challenges.Proficiency with MS Office Suite; ability to provide litigation support as needed; willingness to travel up to 20% with occasional overnight stays.Education and ExperienceBachelor of Science in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering, or equivalent; Master’s degree in Structural Engineering preferred.Professional Engineer (PE) License required.Minimum 10 years of experience in the building design consulting industry; 12 years preferred.Not eligible for sponsorship.About IMEG and BenefitsIMEG is an employee-owned firm committed to investing in employees’ futures through development opportunities and career advancement.
