OverviewFirestone Polymers, LLC is headquartered in Lake Charles, LA and manufactures polymers and synthetic rubber in our world-class ISO 9001:2015, 14001:2015 registered plant located in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Firestone's unique anionic polymerization technology allows production of high purity, high molecular weight polybutadiene and a wide range of block, random, and vinyl modified styrene-butadiene copolymers. These products are sold around the world for use in tires, impact modification of plastics and hot melt adhesives. Statistical process control is used in every step of the operation. Firestone Polymers, LLC is a subsidiary of Bridgestone Americas, a division of Bridgestone Corporation, the world/'s largest tire and rubber company.Location: Lake Charles, LA. This position offers some flexibility in the work schedule. Most teammates work four, 10 hour days, Monday through Thursday, but five, 8 hour days Monday through Friday is also an option. Although the position is posted in other geographical areas, the role is onsite at the Lake Charles plant with relocation assistance being offered. We are unable to offer sponsorship for this position.This Reliability Engineer position focuses on planning, designing and implementing maintenance programs to optimize the availability and productivity of manufacturing facilities and equipment. Problems faced may be difficult but typically are not complex.ResponsibilitiesDeveloping and Implementing Reliability ProgramsInvestigating the root causes of failures and recommending corrective actions to prevent recurrenceIdentifying areas for improvement in design, manufacturing, and operations to enhance reliability and performanceWorking closely with design, manufacturing, maintenance, and operations teams to integrate reliability principlesTracking key performance indicators (KPIs) related to reliability and reporting on performance and areas for improvementPlan and coordinate maintenance engineering workPerform engineering review of proposed new equipment designs to assess reliability, ease of maintenance, and availability of replacement partsDevelop and implement continuous improvement/proactive maintenance strategiesPreferred QualificationsBachelor/'s degree in Engineering (e.g., Reliability, Mechanical, Electrical)Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsProficiency in reliability analysis and modeling techniquesExperience with failure analysis and reliability testingKnowledge of relevant industry standards and regulationsExcellent communication and teamworkExperience with reliability prediction tools (FEMA, etc)Detail-oriented with a focus on continuous improvementMinimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience; OR 3+ years of relevant experience.What we offerAt Bridgestone, what really matters is to foster co-creation opportunities and empowering you to be creative and curious to make mobility safer, more efficient, and more sustainable for future generations.
