Chief Electrical Mechanical System Engineering Manager Overview The Chief Electrical Mechanical System Engineer is responsible for coordinating the daily efforts of the maintenance workforce. This position performs advanced (senior-level) installation, maintenance, oversight, and repair work, and plans electrical systems additions or modifications on secondary circuits. Work focuses on secondary electrical systems that are 1000 volts and below. Responsibilities Install, repair, maintain, and test commercial and industrial electrical systems and EVCS. Use industry-related hand tools and power tools. Measure, cut, bend, thread, and install wire and electrical cable systems, conduit systems and other wire raceway systems. Repair, maintain, troubleshoot and inspect building electrical systems, EVCS and related systems. Install, repair, maintain, and test other electrical systems such as fire life safety, PA, security, control, robotic systems, micro grids, and related systems. Work on low and high voltage systems as permitted by authorization and training/certification levels. Feed, pull, into, and terminate wires and cables within control centers, distribution boxes, transformers, transducers, switchgear, receptacles, and switches. Splice and terminate wires at junction points. Troubleshoot equipment electrical systems and control circuits; build control panels from drawings. Prepare sketches and schematic diagrams showing wiring and electrical system locations. Work on emergency generators, PDUs, UPS, DC batteries, ATS and related systems. Develop, review, and execute Electrical Safety Job Plans, Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA). Communicate effectively with facility team members, engineering team members, and supervisors. Adhere to NEC, NFPA, NFPA 70B, NFPA 70E, OSHA local, state, federal safety procedures and protocols. Read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics. Progressively take on more responsibility and adapt to changing business needs. Perform other duties as required. Requirements Possess a current and valid CA Commercial Journeyman Electrician C-11 license or ability to obtain within one year. Minimum 5 years of overall experience after obtaining journeyman certification/license; for AZ, at least 5 years as a journeyman electrician if not certified/licensed; at least 2 years of EVCS experience. Knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC), NFPA codes (70, 70B, 70E, 72) and related building codes. NFPA 70E training, PPE and electrical safety procedures. Ability to read/interpret drawings and wire diagrams; working knowledge of electrical code (local and IEEE) as it applies to controls. Experience in scope determination of installation materials. May be required to achieve and maintain other certifications relevant to job duties. Ability to respond to callouts and emergencies within 1 hour during and after regular hours, including after dark, with a communication device (on rotation). Strong job planning, prioritization, and client-focused mindset. Ability to work with a team, take direction, maintain schedules, and follow work rules. Knowledge of Lock/Tag Out, OSHA and other electrical safety procedures. May work in low-lit areas and be available for shift work as applicable. Ability to climb to elevated platforms, ladders, etc. Pay and Benefits Pay: $120,000 - $140,000 DOE. The pay listed is the salary range for this position. Offers vary based on education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and market data. You may be eligible to participate in a company incentive or bonus program.
