Ask anyone who knows us - the caliber of our people sets us apart.LEAD ENGINEER, MCGOUGH FACILITY MANAGEMENTThe Lead Engineer guides and supports a team of Building Engineers and assists with direction of Maintenance Technicians in support of client, maintenance, and facility operating needs. The Lead Engineer is responsible for identifying building service needs, performing building service work, and assisting with Facility/Property Management needs. The position has a strong focus on process improvements across all functions of the McGough Facility Management’s field service team.Qualifications:Required:High School Diploma or G.E.D1-3 years of supervisory experienceMinnesota 1st Class Boilers License or Chief License. Open to a person with a 2nd Class License, but would need to obtain 1st Class Boilers License within 3 months from hire date.Valid Driver’s licenseAbility to perform, train and oversee building maintenance and engineering staff in all aspects of McGough Facility Management’s self-performed building maintenance and engineering workKnowledge of record keeping, reporting, budgeting, supplies, materials and equipment cost control and time trackingDemonstrated ability to manage time constraints, multiple projects, and urgent priorities simultaneouslyThorough understanding of commercial HVAC, electrical, plumbing, building automation, fire/life safety systems and all other related building functionsStrong computer skills, including work order systems, building controls/ BAS/ EMS and related building operating systemsStrong leadership, communication, collaboration, and conflict resolution skillsExperience Building strong partnerships with clients, tenants, subcontractors, and internal business operating unitsPursue continuous learning of industry standards and technologiesPreferred:B.S. or A.A.S. technical degree in HVAC, Facilities Engineering or comparable training programSystem Maintenance Administrator (SMA), System Maintenance technician (SMT) designation or Building Systems Maintenance (SMC) certification or other applicable professional credentialsExperience with developing, implementing, and managing continuous improvement initiativesOffice and Travel:Daily travel between managed properties is necessary. This position is part of McGough Facility Management’s roving Building Engineering and Maintenance team.Responsibilities and Tasks:Building Service & Project WorkResponsible for ensuring that parts, supplies, materials, and tools required for the Maintenance Technicians and Building Engineers, are ordered and made available in a timely manner to ensure work requests can be completed timelyAbility to provide 24/7 on call support to assist and respond to building emergency needsAssist Maintenance Technicians and Building Engineers with work requests, repairs, preventive maintenance, tasks and building operating needsProvide backup coverage for Maintenance Technicians and Building Engineers to ensure maintenance/ operating requirements and site coverage needs are met.Responsible for completing and performing project work, helping to allocate resources and provide direction to Technician/EngineerAccountable for ensuring that all self-performed maintenance and engineering work is complete, finished on schedule, and is of high qualityGrowth Opportunities & Property NeedsMeets with Facility/ Property Managers to support client relationshipsWork to improve the services provided by the Maintenance Technicians and Building EngineersResponsible for developing building maintenance, operating and preventive maintenance plans with the assistance of Facility/ Property ManagersIdentify self-perform opportunitiesWork to identify needs in advance, to reduce the number of urgent requestsWorks to actively identify repair and capital needs at managed propertiesTraining & Staff DevelopmentOversees and provide training in building operations and the maintenance of HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing and control systems to provide the most efficient operating results and life expectancy of equipmentWork to develop team member capabilities through staff development plansRecommend, implement, and champion process improvementsActively promotes safety awareness and ensure a safe environment for MFM technicians, engineers and clients. Comply with all safety procedures, maintaining good housekeeping and safety of work areas. Knowledge of OSHA and other code and safety standards.AdministrativeResponsible for guiding and supporting the team of Building Engineers and assists with direction of Maintenance Technicians in support of client, maintenance, and facility operating needs.Assist with daily and monthly work schedules. Monitor work levels to ensure proper balance between capacity and workloadReview completed technician and building engineer labor reports to verify accuracy of detail, truck charges, appropriate time, and completeness of workSupport Facility/ Property Managers with client building needsResponsible for managing general building maintenance and engineering service contracts to field servicesPhysical Requirements:The physical requirements listed here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
