OverviewSenior Instrumentation Engineer - Relocation to Saudi Arabia is required. We are seeking an Instrumentation Engineer with extensive experience in instrumentation used for final control, monitoring and safety of Gas Plants, NGL Fractionation Plants, Refineries, petrochemical plants, pipelines and distribution facilities. This role is part of the Process Automation and Systems Division, within the Process & Control Systems Department at Aramco.Process and Control Systems Department provides services in the field of process engineering, automation, new energy, and digitalization to various entities within Aramco.As an Instrumentation Engineer your primary role will be to provide instrumentation engineering expertise to the various Aramco entities, including designing, developing, installing, and troubleshooting. You will work with cross-disciplinary teams including operating sites, instrumentation engineering, facility planning, and project management. You are also expected to participate in organizational and company initiatives including safety programs, innovation programs, operational excellence, knowledge sharing, self-development, and other programs as required.ResponsibilitiesProvide support with all types of instrumentation including level, temperature, pressure, control valves, Emergency Isolation Valves, Motor Operated Valves, Relief Valves, flow measurement, level gauges, etc.Originate and carry out engineering studies to determine optimal solutions to complex technical problems, increase revenue, reduce cost, and improve process safety.Work with and/or lead task teams assigned to investigate incidents or solve specific technical problems. Undertake special assignments requiring extensive technical experience and discretion when dealing with outside organizations.Develop and maintain Saudi Aramco Engineering Standards, Material Specifications, Procedures and Best Practices to enhance profitability, safety, and productivity by applying and interpreting key industry codes and standards relevant to instrumentation and control.Review and evaluate capabilities of vendors and contractors to determine their acceptability to perform major services to Saudi Aramco.Act as a company representative in technical dealings with vendors, manufacturers, and design firms.Perform technical evaluation for instrumentation quotations and attend technical bid evaluation meetings.Evaluate and introduce best practices and new technologies to enable the company to achieve best-in-class performance in oil and gas.Perform cost analyses and value engineering studies to recommend cost-effective solutions to technical issues.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Engineering (Instrumentation, Mechanical or Electrical preferred); Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering is desirable but not required.Minimum 20 years of professional experience as an engineer in charge of technical work in the field of specialty. Experience with a major international Oil & Gas Company and/or with one of the instrumentation suppliers used by the Company is desired.Experience in plant instrumentation sizing and selection (control valves, pressure relief valves, actuators, basic process measurement, etc.).Certifications: ISA Certified Automation Professional (CAP), Certified Functional Safety Professional (CFSP), TUV FSEng, Principles & Practice of Engineering (PE) certification, or Chartered Engineer (C.E.) license or registration.Basic knowledge of H2S, LEL, pH, conductivity, O2 analyzers, CO/CO2 analyzers, fire & gas detectors and gas chromatographs is preferred.Proficiency in the International codes and standards used within the oil and gas industry (API, BS, ISO, ASME, ANSI, IEC, ISA, IEEE, etc.).Experience as lead engineer in HAZOP, SIL, P&ID, design, and model reviews.Understanding of control systems, compressor and pumps field instrumentation, speed controllers, Vibration Monitoring Systems (VMS), and Compressor Control Systems (CCS).Understanding of communication protocols such as DNP3, Modbus, FieldBus, TCP, IEC, RP570, ANSI and general process automation protocols.Active membership in a relevant professional society (ISA, IEEE, etc.) for a minimum of 3 years and current membership.Seniority levelMid-Senior levelEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionIndustries: Oil and Gas and Chemical Manufacturing #J-18808-Ljbffr
