OverviewA leading contract manufacturer of various snack food products located in Commack, NY is currently seeking a Maintenance Manager. The position is responsible for all maintenance activities supporting a single site organization.Job SummaryWe are looking for an energetic and creative Maintenance Manager to join our team who is detail orientated and has excellent follow-up skills. The position will lead and implement our site maintenance strategy and deliver continuous improvement through core maintenance systems.Definition of SuccessA maintenance department that drives safety, employee development, accountability, continuous improvement and sustainability while working collaboratively across all departments of the organization.Key ResponsibilitiesPrioritize safety through leadership, work procedures and employee safety programsFoster a collaborative working environment across all departments of the organizationDrive a continuous improvement mindsetLead, manage and develop the maintenance team ensuring they have the resources, skills and support requiredProvide clear and active leadership and coaching to drive high standards of operationOptimize department costs through effective resource planning and managementPrepare / review / approve cost estimates, budgets, bids and contractsMaintain and continuously improve the manufacturing facilities and equipment enabling the organization to deliver on key performance standardsFocus on reducing equipment downtime through design and implementation of preventative maintenance programsManage the Maintenance, Repair and Operations stockroom optimizing inventory levelsMust have strong Electrical & Mechanical diagnostic skillsMust be prepared to coach and train their team in diagnosing issues in a timely and effective mannerManage facility and maintenance work performed by outside vendorsDevelop and implement policies, standards and procedures for the maintenance and technical work performedCustomer Focus: Understands and monitors the needs of internal and external customersAdaptable / Flexible: Open to change in response to new information, different or unexpected circumstancesCross-Functional Collaboration: Ability to work in a dynamic team environmentSelf-Starter: Takes initiative in developing programs to conform with set standards, ensuring the development of a robust cultureProblem-Solving: Prevents and solves issues, understands and mitigates problems, recognizes cause and effect relationships between functionsProject and Time Management: Plans tasks and deliverables accurately, prioritizes tasks and adapts as needed and is responsive to requests and accountable for actionsQualificationsBachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience5 to 10 Years' Experience in a manufacturing facility ideally in the food industry3 to 5 Years' Experience in a supervisory or management positionStrong knowledge of engineering concepts, including electrical, pneumatic, PLCs and mechanical systemsEffective interpersonal and written communication skillsExcellent organizational and prioritization skillsProficient in MS Office suite including Excel and PowerPoint #J-18808-Ljbffr
