Job Description

OverviewThe Facilities Specialist will be responsible to support all general assembly engineering activities carried out at a vehicle assembly plant. This individual is the lead responsible for maintaining the plant ACAD layout for equipment installations and facilities infrastructure (power/air/structural). The Facilities Specialist will manage making accurate field observations, measurements and converting information supplied from vendors into the overall composite plant layout for General Assembly. This person will be responsible for preparing the Master Timing plan with all assembly activities, in Microsoft Project. The facility specialist will also support he preparation of meeting minutes, reports, PowerPoint presentations and will be responsible for storage of program documentation within the clients document control system.Key ResponsibilitiesCAD layout development, proofing, and publishingDevelop and write scopes of works for contractor quoting (must know power requirements, air requirements, capacity of tooling, etc.) including:Demolition, installations, power drops, constructionPerform field checks of existing equipment, tooling, and facilitiesConduct contractor walkthroughs for quoting scopesReview and approve steel drawings submitted by contractorsReview and approve installation drawings submitted by OEMs for release to contractorsManage installations for tooling, equipment, facilities, etc.Ensure systems meet required cycle times; eliminate sources of downtime and micro stopsLead daily launch construction meetingsManage progress reports to master plan; address variances to scheduleMandatory Skills and ProficienciesMinimum Education: High School DiplomaMinimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing facility2D and 3D layout experience is a must, successful candidate will have proven AutoCAD skillsStrong computer skills - particularly in Microsoft suite: Excel, PowerPoint, ProjectExcellent communication skills - both orally and in writing Outstanding problem solving/analytical skills requiredDemonstrated project management experienceOptional Skills and ProficienciesExperience in automotive assembly plantsAutomotive experience with launching new modelsFamiliarity with relevant equipment including ergonomic arms, torque tubes, lift assists, and associated steel frame & rail designExperience working with plant skilled trades, and installation skilled trades working under the NMA; Experience working with Bargaining Unit EmployeesSpecialized Software: Teamcenter, Autodesk (Inventor, AutoCAD, Navisworks)Submission DetailsThe following details must accompany your submission: First Name, Middle name, and Last Name; City And State; Open to Relocate?; Rate; Availability; Phone #; Mobile #; Email Address; Visa type; Visa Expiration Date; Hiring pensation and LocationLocation: Sterling Heights, MIIndustry: IT Services and IT ConsultingSeniority level: Entry levelEmployment type: Full-timeJob function: Manufacturing & Process EngineeringLocation listed for sample other roles in the area: Chicago, IL and surrounding areas with various salaries listed. #J-18808-Ljbffr
