Lead Power Systems Consultant - Western Electricity Coordinating Council RegionJoin Siemens as a Lead Power Systems Consultant to accelerate and secure the energy transition in a sustainable and profitable way. By embracing the powerful capabilities of software and digital technology, we make sure power makes its way at every step.The Lead Power Systems Consultant will perform large-scale simulations of electrical transmission systems for Utilities, Regional Transmission Organizations, and energy asset owners to develop solutions for safe and reliable power system operations, while mentoring others on the team. This is a remote position based in the contiguous U.S., providing solutions to clients in the WECC Region.Responsibilities:Performing/leading consulting engagements related to power grid analysis and design, system dynamics and transients, system interconnection, and grid code compliance.Managing/supporting project execution, tracking project progress, and making necessary adjustments to maintain scope, schedule, budget, and quality.Producing reports and presentations with study results in collaboration with team members.Maintaining relationships with clients to ensure satisfaction, analyzing clients’ business requirements and identifying opportunities for further business.Supporting proposal preparation by developing project plans, budgets, and timelines.Providing mentoring and technical development to junior consultants.Developing automation scripts to streamline repetitive tasks, reduce errors, and boost overall efficiency.Delivering on-site consulting and training services.Minimum requirements:Bachelor’s or postgraduate degree in Electrical Engineering preferably with specialization in Power and Energy Systems.Minimum of 6 years of professional experience with at least 5 years of experience performing power systems analysis for consulting firms, electric utilities, ISOs, RTOs, developers, or national labs.Project management experience, including leading a project team, and developing/managing budget and schedule.Experience simulating and analyzing the WECC region.Experience leading, mentoring, or developing others professionally.Experience analyzing power flow and dynamic stability using PSLF required; additional experience with PSSE, PowerWorld, TSAT and TARA dustry experience performing power system transient analysis using PSCAD or EMTP-RV.Good knowledge of NERC Reliability Standards with understanding of RTO and other regional planning criteria, procedures, and practices.Strong communication, presentation, and listening skills with demonstrated ability to write effective technical reports.Ability to travel 10% domestically and internationally.Preferred qualifications:Prior relevant consulting experience.Experience in distribution planning.Siemens is an Equal Opportunity Employer encouraging inclusion in the workplace.
