OverviewGFT is looking for an Hourly / Part-Time / As Needed Senior Consultant – Hydraulics / Hydrology Engineering to join our Geotechnical Dams & Hydraulics Team in Houston, Texas. This is a hybrid position and will require regular attendance at our Houston, Texas office.Joining the dams and hydraulics team at GFT means contributing to innovative solutions for sustainable water management and infrastructure. Our team excels in dams and levees, advanced water and wastewater treatment, stormwater management, and conveyance, collection, and transmission. Explore some of our signature water resources and environmental projects here.What you’ll be challenged to doThis is an excellent career opportunity for an experienced, motivated H&H Engineer who has a customer-focused mindset and a passion for delivering exceptional quality and results on every project.ResponsibilitiesAssign individual work tasks and providing guidance to team membersExecution of QA / QC for Client DeliverablesPreparation of Design Development Documents and Reports, Design Plans and Technical SpecificationsDirect and participate in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, storm sewer analysis, stormwater engineering design, drainage planning, and groundwater analysesPerform hydrologic and hydraulic analysesAnalyze and interpret data and review written reportsAbility to interact with our clients and work on cross-functional teamsAssist with oversight of team members and client managementFormulate and solve problemsEnsure that project documents are consistent with project plans and within project scope and budgetWhat you will bring to our firmB.S. Degree or higher in Civil or Environmental Engineering (or related Engineering field), with emphasis in water resources20+ years H&H, Civil Engineering, and water resources-related experiencePE in State of TexasExperience leading Teams and interacting with ClientsDirect knowledge of permitting requirements for SFWMD preferredDemonstrated knowledge of hydrology and open channel hydraulicsKnowledge/experience Stormwater Management, Flood Control, and Master Drainage PlansProficiency in Hydrologic computer modeling applications is requiredCompensation & BenefitsCompensation: The salary range for this role is $120.00 - $130.00 per hour.
