OverviewPope John Paul II High School in Lacey, Washington is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director of Development to lead our fundraising efforts during a pivotal time in our school’s history. With a current enrollment of 90 students, we are embarking on an ambitious five-year capital campaign to fund the construction of a new school facility designed to accommodate 250+ students. This is a public-facing, personal-engagement focused position. The ideal candidate will be an excellent relationship builder, an engaging public speaker, and a seasoned fundraiser.ResponsibilitiesDonation marketing: Design and produce comprehensive brochure of donation opportunities for presentation to current and potential donors.Relationship management: Maintain and enhance long-term relationships with current donors and key stakeholders.New donor development: Identify, cultivate, and land new major private, corporate, and institutional donors focusing on personal engagement and relationship-building.Public engagement: Frequently and energetically represent the school to a wide range of audiences, including parents, alumni, community leaders, business leaders, and current as well as prospective donors. This position requires a majority of time spent outside the School.Financial oversight: Work closely with the school/'s leadership, finance team and Executive Board to manage annual fundraising events and achieve fundraising targets.Capital campaign: Take a leadership role in the planning, execution, and management of the five-year capital campaign to secure funds for our new school facility.QualificationsExperience: Minimum four years of experience in developing new donors for a school or non-profit organizations.Public Speaking: Excellent public speaking abilities with the confidence and skill to present the School’s vision, development opportunities, and campaign goals.Financial Knowledge: A basic knowledge of financing instruments commonly used by lending institutions to finance major building projects.Social Skills: Exceptional social skills with the ability to connect with individuals from all backgrounds and build rapport effectively.Additional InformationExperience with Catholic schools is a plus, but not required.Benefits: A comprehensive package of benefits is offered including two medical plan options, dental, vision, life, accidental death and disability, long term disability, pension, 403(b), HSA, FSA, and generous sick leave, vacation, and holidays. Salary up to $100,000.
