Position: Director of GolfReports to: District ManagerSupervises: Head ProfessionalFood & Beverage ManagerGolf Operations StaffOverview:The EagleVail Metro District is excited to announce an outstanding career opportunity for a Director of Golf Operations. We are seeking a dynamic leader with a strong background in business leadership, golf operations, and food & beverage management. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, community-focused, and passionate about delivering an exceptional golf experience.General Responsibilities:As a member of the District's Management Team, the Director of Golf will oversee all golf operations and services including: golf pro shop and clubhouse, golf course driving range, golf services areas, golf car operation, and Food & Beverage. This position will also include the supervision of the head golf professional, golf operations staff and F&B Manger. The position will promote an exceptional "golf experience" and provide excellent services and programs for all guests. Benefits/Compensation:$100,000.00-$130,000.00 DOE. Benefits include vacation, holidays, sick pay, wellness benefit, health insurance, retirement, and a flexible schedule during the off-season. EagleVail Metro District also allows employees free access to all District facilities.Essential Functions: The duties of the Director of Golf will include but not be limited to the following:1. Golf Operationsa. Manages, supervises and oversees the clubhouse and golf operations to provide the highest standards of excellence for member and guest enjoyment.b. Design, promote and direct all golf activities.c. Prepares operating budgets and long-term capital planning for golf.d. Maintains management reports in sufficient detail to properly track where revenues are generated along with rounds played including key performance indicators.e. Provides daily accounting of the entire clubhouse revenue stream and expenses.f. Plans and coordinates golf programs, including golf clinics and training programs to promote the game of golf.g. Oversees Golf Shop operations including ordering, purchasing, inventory, training and oversees reconciliation of cash receipts to all register drawers for proper reporting and processing.h. Supervises, trains and directs staff in customer service, golf car maintenance and Golf Shop operations.i. Supervises the planning, promotion and execution of all golf tournaments and group outings, including employee golf outings.j. Supervises scheduling of the work hours for the operation, golf course and golf car staff within the parameters of the annual operating budget.k. Attends Board and staff meetings as required including written monthly reports.2. Food & Beverage Managementa. Manages, supervises and oversees the entire F&B operation to provide the highest standards of excellence for member and guest enjoyment.b. Prepares operating budgets and long-term capital planning for F&B operations.c. Maintains management reports in sufficient detail to properly track where revenues are generated.d. Provides daily accounting of the entire clubhouse revenue stream and expenses.e. Ensures proper communication between departments, maintains excellent relationships with suppliers and keeps all guests and staff satisfied and well-informed.f. Oversees reconciliation of cash receipts to all register drawers for proper reporting and processing.g. Functions as management liaison with committees and attends all necessary meetings. Recommends policy changes in the areas of user fee structure, hours of operation, guest privileges, etc.Knowledge, Skills and Traits:a. Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university and one to two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of experience and education.b. Class A member in good standing with the PGA or LPGA of America.c. Must have a minimum of five years of experience as a Director of Golf, Head Professional at a recognized golf club.d. Prior experience in all facets of golf operations, including inventory and financial control; employee motivation and training; golf instruction; tournament and event management; working knowledge of golf course maintenance.e. Expertise in golfing rules, handicaps, and regulations.f. Experience with Food and Beverage operations.g. Knowledge of marketing, financial management and retail operations.• Outstanding Interpersonal Skills and Problem-Solving Skills• Well-developed knowledge of budgeting and finance• Committed to customer service excellence• Skilled in marketing and promotion• Demonstrates effective leadership skills• Growth in Food and Beverage revenue• Familiarity with Human Resources concepts• Excellence in training employees• Act as a role model for all employees by demonstrating the behavior and work ethic expected of all employees• Strong organizational, planning and prioritization skills• Self-motivated with desire to promote and market• Experienced computer user including Microsoft Word and Excel.
