Plant Mechanic

Plant MechanicThe Plant Mechanic performs skilled maintenance and repairs on all plant equipment. Essential job duties include maintenance and repairs on valves, pumps, fans, motors, boilers, chillers and other plant equipment. Performing maintenance, repairs and calibrations on control system equipment. Performs inspection rounds on equipment and records system readings such as flow, pressures and temperatures. Demonstrates leadership and versatility in the application and coordination of technical workflow. Maintains Mechanical Rooms. Maintaining effective communications with team members, Floor Mechanics and Supervisors to ensure prompt response to requests for repairs.This is a full time day shift position, Monday - Friday 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, located at NewYork-Presbyterian/ Weill Cornell Medical Center.Require CriteriaHigh School Diploma or GEDFive to seven years of plant experienceMust be available for weekends, evenings, nights, holidays, emergencies and scheduled work/outagesMust adhere to and follow shift coverage proceduresFDNY A-35 Air Compressors within 6 months of hireFDNY P-98 Fuel Oil Piping and Bulk Storage within 6 months of hireFDNY F-60 Fire Guard for Torch Operations within 6 months of hireFDNY G-60 Torch Use of Flammable Gas within 6 months of hirePreferred CriteriaFDNY G-29 Compressed Flammable GasesFDNY C-99 Compressed Natural GasJoin a healthcare system where employee engagement is at an all-time high.
