Industrial Diesel Mechanic

Job Summary:Under general supervision performs very specific skilled work. Maintains the plant’s mechanical, diesel, electrical, and electronic equipment. Welds to repair and fabricate components essential to production processes. Maintains and repair’s structure, piping, fixtures and equipment. Performs predictive and preventive maintenance. Performs other duties of a similar nature as may be required.Pay: $35/hour - DOEQualifications: Understand basic electrical, mechanical and hydraulic schematics  Properly use tools like electrical meters, hydraulic gauges, and lifting equipment  Capable of lifting 50 pounds  Valid Drivers license and clean driving record  Welding/fabrication experience  Must know how to safely work around and with heavy equipment/object  Able to measure accurately with calipers, feeler gauges, and tape measures  Be able to work 40+hours per week Experience:  Relevant: 3 years of industrial maintenance experience (Preferred)  Manufacturing environment: 3 years (Preferred)  Forklift Driving: 3 years (Preferred)   Repairing Forklifts weighing 5,000lbs-80,000lbs  Repaired Heavy Diesel Equipment Welding: 3 years (Preferred)   Ability to arc welding and cutting torch experience  Service Tech: 3 years (Preferred)  Ability to read simple electrical / mechanical drawings  Communicates effectively  Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Must be able to work in extreme temperatures and will be exposed to heat, cold, wind, rain, dust, confined spaces, elevated areas, dirt  Must be able to lift a minimum of 35 lbs. and up to 100 lbs. occasionally*  Must be able to sit for extended periods  Must be able to work on feet for extended periods*  Must be capable of using protective equipment such as hard hats, safety glasses/goggles, safety shoes, hearing protection, air masks, respirators, etc. in the performance of job duties* *  All employees are required to comply with the Substance Abuse policy, which includes but is not limited to a post-offer drug screen and physical examination*  Takes the initiative to get things done.  What We Offer: Thompson offers a variety of benefit plans and a company-matched 401K retirement plan Life and Supplement Life Employee Discounts Paid Holidays Company Events Training and Development Career Advancement Opportunities Thompson Pipe Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer, and we pride ourselves on recruiting, employing, training, compensating, and promoting regardless of race, religion, color, national origin, sex, disability, age, veteran status, and other protected status as required by applicable law.
