Materials Supervisor

Amsted Rail Company – Griffin Wheel, the leading manufacturer of quality railroad wheels in North America, is seeking qualified candidates to join our manufacturing group as a Materials Supervisor at our Groveport, Ohio facility.Position Overview:The Materials Supervisor oversees, directs, and schedules the receipt, disbursement, and inventory of purchased goods. This includes recordkeeping and daily storeroom operations to ensure that production and maintenance teams have the materials they need for efficient operations. The role also involves supervising, motivating, and training material coordinators to maintain an effective and organized workflow.Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a related field required Minimum of 3 years of materials management experience preferred Demonstrated supervisory experience in shipping, warehouse, inventory, and vendor negotiations MRP experience and ISM/APICS certifications are a plus Proficiency in personal computer applications, including spreadsheets and word processing Key Competencies:Candidates will be evaluated on their skills and abilities in the following areas: Accounting Knowledge Adaptability Coaching Motivational Fit Planning and Organizing Gaining Commitment Initiative Team Contribution Quality & Attention to Detail Safety Awareness Verbal and Written Communication Equal Opportunity Statement:Amsted Rail is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
