Whether through traditional bid or CMAR delivery, we work as a trusted partner from day one-and stand by our work long after closeout.*Job Summary:*The Senior Civil Construction Estimator will lead the development of accurate, competitive cost estimates for complex heavy civil and infrastructure projects. This role requires extensive estimating experience and a strategic understanding of project execution, constructability, and risk. The Senior Estimator will mentor junior team members, collaborate closely with project management and engineering teams, and play a key role in securing work that aligns with Wendler Inc.'s business objectives and profitability goals.*Key Responsibilities:** Lead and manage the preparation of detailed cost estimates for heavy civil, site development, and public infrastructure projects.* Analyze design documents, specifications, and project scope to identify risks, opportunities, and value engineering alternatives.* Perform advanced quantity takeoffs for earthwork, utilities, structures, concrete, and roadway components.* Develop and maintain cost databases, production rates, and vendor/supplier pricing.* Solicit, review, and negotiate subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure comprehensive bid coverage.* Prepare bid proposals and present findings to executive leadership for final review and submission.* Collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure continuity from estimate to project execution.* Lead post-bid reviews, cost reconciliations, and historical cost analyses to improve estimating accuracy.* Represent the company in pre-bid meetings, industry events, and client interactions when required.*Requirements:** Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.* 8+ years of progressive estimating experience in heavy civil construction, including infrastructure, public works, or site development.* Proven track record of leading multimillion-dollar bids from concept through final submission.* Strong leadership, analytical, and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.* Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Bluebeam, and Sage Estimating (or comparable estimating platforms).* Deep understanding of civil construction means and methods, equipment utilization, and labor productivity.* Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and geotechnical data.* Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to present technical information clearly to both field and executive audiences.* Strategic thinker with a focus on profitability, constructability, and competitive positioning.* Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple estimates simultaneously.*Why Wendler Inc.?*At Wendler Inc. we don't just build projects; we build careers.
