The successful candidate will be an experienced risk management professional who understands cyber and technology functions and organizations, with strong analytical, planning, strategic thinking, organizational and communication skills. As Director of the IRIS team in Capital One’s Enterprise Services (ES) Risk Office (ES Risk, first line of defense), you will execute high priority enterprise-level technology and cyber initiatives, digital, product, data management, and other initiatives; influence across the organization; and drive the implementation of our strategy. Specifically, in this position, you will lead the IRIS team within the ES Division at Capital One, and focus on oversight of Issue and Event (Problem) management, governance of risk data quality, serving as risk system of record champion for ES, governance of risk mitigation plans, and ensuring ES remains well managed across its process and business entity structures as we grow and navigate change - including playing a key role in the Discover Financial Services (DFS) integration for ES.You will collaborate closely with associates and senior Executives across all lines of defense, Lines of Business, and other risk management teams to perform and support the work related to further maturing risk management practices. This includes leading and implementing risk management tools and frameworks for the organization and managing a sustainable and mature process to identify, assess, mitigate, and monitor change. This role will be responsible for big picture thinking, strategic direction, and partnering across teams to develop and support best-in-class industry risk solutions in a manner that supports innovation and protects our customers, shareholders and associates.
