Education/Experience Minimum Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent Minimum two (2) years related experience in a medical or clinical laboratory (i.e. Phlebotomy or Specimen Management). Preferred: One (1) year Laboratory Client services in a clinical laboratory setting. As a teaching hospital, UHS trains over 70 physicians per year in residency and fellowship programs.Work Environment Work is performed in temperature controlled offices that require working in close quarters with other employees. Walking to inpatient care areas and in‐house ancillary departments, as well as traveling by car to outpatient settings are expected. Standard use of personal protective equipment and compliance with institutional infection control policies and procedures during patient contact. Locations are staffed with 1 ‐ 5 employees. All locations have HVAC resources to maintain ambient temperature and humidity. Physical Demands: Tasks require varying durations of sitting (0‐2 hours), standing (0‐2hrs) Walking to internal hospital locations. Infrequent lifting of objects not greater than 25 lbs. is required. Personal Protective Equipment: PPE is required for specific tasks in specified locations and includes: Surgical gloves, lab coats, face shields and plexiglass counter shields.
