Our mission encompasses:Please read the following job description thoroughly to ensure you are the right fit for this role before applying.* *Crisis Response:* 24/7/365 hotline and emergency shelter for immediate safety.* *Support Services:* Counseling, advocacy, and legal services for victims of domestic violence and human trafficking.* *Education & Training:* Domestic violence education in schools and community centers across Westchester County.* *Free Services:* All services are provided at no cost to victims and survivors.*Position Overview*We are seeking a highly experienced Supervising Attorney to join the Hope's Door Legal Center team, providing vital support to survivors of domestic violence with information, legal advice, and representation in family law, matrimonial actions, custody and visitation, child support, and orders of protection. The ideal candidate will be passionate about serving marginalized communities and committed to ensuring justice and safety for domestic violence survivors.*Key Responsibilities** The Supervising Attorney will supervise and mentor staff attorneys, provide consultations and strategic guidance, review pleadings, motions, and represent a limited caseload of clients directly in court.* Oversee staff attorneys, ensuring strong legal strategies and professional development.* Conduct consultations and provide legal advice to clients.* Write, review and approve pleadings, motions, and court submissions.* Represent clients in Westchester County courts on select matters.* Collaborate with the Chief of Legal Services and community partners to strengthen legal advocacy for survivors.*Qualifications and Preferred Skills and Experience** Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and admission to practice law in New York State, in good standing.* 10+ years of legal experience, including litigation, negotiation and drafting, in family law, preferably DV practice.* Strong leadership skills with proven experience mentoring attorneys.* Commitment to trauma informed, culturally competent legal advocacy.* Bilingual in Spanish preferred.*Supervising Attorney Salary Range - $90,000 - $100,000 **Total Compensation Potential:* Up to *$102,780-$112,780* annually, including a *monthly cash benefit of $1,065* (equivalent to up to $12,780 per year), which can be applied to insurance premiums or added directly to your paycheck.Life Insurance - Short and Long-term Disability Coverage401(k) Participation Eligibility on 1st of following month of hire*PTO: *25 days *Sick: *12 days *Holidays:* 10 daysJob Type: Full-timePay: $102,000.00 - $112,000.00 per yearBenefits:* 401(k)* Dental insurance* Flexible spending account* Health insurance* Health savings account* Life insurance* Paid time off* Parental leave* Vision insuranceExperience:* legal: 10 years (Required)* Family law: 10 years (Required)* Litigation: 10 years (Required)* Domestic Violence: 1 year (Preferred)License/Certification:* Juris Doctor Degree (Required)* Admission to practice law, in good standing (NY) (Required)Work Location: In person
