We are committed to safety, reliability, and excellence in service for our customers and communities.Job DescriptionPro Waste Inc is seeking an experienced Lead Diesel Mechanic to join our maintenance team. The successful candidate will lead preventative maintenance, repair, and diagnostics of our fleet, ensure optimal performance.This role requires hands-on expertise with diesel engines, hydraulics, welding, and fabrication, as well as strong problem-solving and leadership abilities.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform diagnostics, repair, and maintenance on diesel-powered roll-off trucks, trash trucks, and portable trucks.Conduct preventive maintenance inspections, troubleshoot issues, and execute mechanical repairs.Diagnose and repair hydraulic systems, fuel systems, air systems, cooling systems, and electrical systems.Weld, fabricate, and modify components as needed to restore or upgrade equipment.Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and manufacturer service manuals.Maintain accurate maintenance records, parts ordering, and service documentation.Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies; promote a culture of safety.Assist in shop maintenance, tool organization, and inventory management.Collaborate with fleet managers to plan downtime and optimize truck availability.QualificationsProven experience as a diesel mechanic with leadership or supervisory responsibilities (lead or senior technician preferred).Strong repair and diagnostic skills for diesel engines and related systems.Proficiency in welding and fabrication; ability to fabricate parts and modify components as needed.Experience with hydraulic systems and components (pumps, valves, cylinders, hoses).Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and TPM/PM scheduling.Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and service manuals.Robust problem-solving, time-management, and organizational skills.Valid and clean driver's license; CDL a plus (specify if required or preferred).OSHA or safety training certification is a plus.Willingness to occasional travel or on-call responsibilities if applicable.What We OfferCompetitive wage with performance-based incentivesHealth, dental, and vision insurance options401(k) with company matchPaid time off and holidaysUniforms and safety gear providedTraining opportunities and career advancement pathwaysSupportive, safety-focused work environmentHow to ApplyPlease submit your resume and a brief cover letter outlining:Your relevant diesel mechanic and leadership experienceSpecific experience with roll-off, trash, and portable trucks (if applicable)Examples of diagnostics, repairs, welding/fabrication projectsAny hydraulic system experience or certificationsApply Now via Indeed with the following details:Expected salary rangeAvailability to startEqual Opportunity EmployerPro Waste Inc is an equal opportunity employer.
