As a Senior Controls Engineer with the Ride Control Team, you will work on creative solutions and implementing control systems for ride motion applications to enhance our guest experience. We are seeking a Senior Controls Engineer that can contribute to the development of control systems for rides, transportation, and entertainment. You will work on electrical and electronic systems that provide control of attractions, automated laundry facilities and show elements. We require knowledge of electrical design and software development in multiple languages in industrial controls or entertainment systems. We seek an individual that works well both individually and as a member of the project team. This position is a 24-month Project Hire position without any guarantee of permanent placement. The position is based in Lake Buena Vista, FL, reporting to the Manager-Controls Engineer. What You Will DoDevelop software architecture and coding for Embedded Systems, Rockwell and Siemens PLCsDevelop and troubleshoot software and hardware on motion control VFD and servo systemsDevelop hardware and software design documentsDevelop safety analysis documents used in safety critical applicationsDevelop and troubleshoot software for industrial Graphical User InterfacesDevelop and perform control system acceptance test plansRequired Qualifications & Skills5+ years of experience in industrial controls or the entertainment ride and show industryProficient in PLC programming and C/C++Experience designing and architecting control systems hardware to UL 508a, e.g. Motor Control Cabinets, IO enclosures, field sensors, cabling, etc.Experience in AC and DC Drive programming and tuningExperience in safety related control systemsExperience in software development planning and documentationExperience in version control and collaboration software toolsKnowledge of industrial network protocols, AS-I, INTERBUS, ControlNet, Profinet, CIP and Ethernet IPExperience in software testing and commissioningExperience drawing, interpreting, and marking up AutoCAD assemblies and schematics.Preferred QualificationsFamiliar with IEC – 61131 using Ladder Diagram and Structured TextExperience in safety control system design using safety PLCs and safety devicesExperience in developing risk assessments and designs using IEC/ISO functional safety standardsKnowledge of I/O and Supervisory Network systemsKnowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic servo control systemsEducationBachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalentPreferred: Masters of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalentAdditional InformationDisney offers a rewards package to help you live your best life.
