Senior Engineering Manager (NEW SITE!)

Jabil is expanding! We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Engineering Manager to drive engineering operations for our new state-of-the-art site in Salisbury, NC (near Charlotte)! The SeniorEngineering Manager willbe responsible forplanning, designing, implementing, and managing production systems acrossour cloud computing / data center manufacturing facilities that assureperformance, reliability, maintainability, schedule adherence and cost control within the production sites. TheSr EngineeringManager will adopt as its goals profitability, effectiveness, adaptability, responsiveness, quality, and the continuous improvement ofrack, server, and data centerproducts and services throughout their life cycles. This role also supports business development efforts with current and/or future customers and development or implementation ofcloudcomputing / data centerengineering strategies. This is an on site, site level, hands on role in Salisbury, NC This role may require extensive travel to other locations during the first 3–6 months for training, team integration, and operational alignment. What will you do? Manages ME (manufacturing engineering)and IE (industrial engineering)activities withfocuson key operational metrics forour cloud computing / data center manufacturing operations.ManufacturingSystem Development: Design and developmanufacturingsystems and procedures forcloud computingmanufacturing processes. This includesmaterial storage, material flow,assembly ofhardware components or devicesinto racks and servers(such as motherboards, memory, CPU, storage (SSD, HDD,NVMe) and PCIEdevices).ManufacturingSustaining:Lead theengineering ofmanufacturingprocesses for (L5 thru L9) assembly andserver (L10) and rack (L11) level test and infrastructure deploymentat our production facilities, including the implementation of system configurationchanges.ManufacturingInfrastructure Expansions:Leadthe site’s manufacturinginfrastructure, layout, and flow for server and rack assembly,liquid cooling, andtesting operationsas well as future expansions planning, deployments, and assemblyof other data center hardware / large factor assembly.Developline layouts,process flow charts, simulation models, layouts, processes, line balancing, staffing models, and manufacturing quotes forexisting operations, continuous improvement, andnew business opportunitiesReduces manufacturing cost byoptimizingprocesses and systems, e.g., modification of responsibilities or consolidation of tasks, elimination of non-value-added processes, and use of Best troduces newadvancedmanufacturing processesincluding automation and alongtransferredcapabilitiesfromnew customers into the Jabil sustaining manufacturing organization.Collects global manufacturing engineering feedback andidentifiesissues to be addressed by ME, IE,or other global functions.Defines, develops, and implements MEand IEstrategies which supportoverallobjectives, business development and Jabil’s strategic directions.ExecutesME and IEactivities in alignment with Jabil strategies, organizationalgoalsand technology roadmapDemonstrates a good understanding of LEAN Six Sigma and actively promotes the core principles throughout the organizationCreates training tools, documents and procedures for global baseline MEand IEcompetency training at sites.Hire,Coach,mentorand trainsite ME and IE resourcesSupport recruiting and retentionof ME and IE talentEnsureME and IEsuccession plans are developed and maintainedDevelops and administers training programs fromengineeringSubject Matter Experts(SME).Provides tactical support to resolve critical technical issues asrequired.May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.How will you get here? Education: Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering or industrial engineering, or equivalent engineering discipline or an equivalent combination of education,trainingor experience. Experience: 10+ years recent experiencein electronics manufacturing industry,preferably in acloud computing or rack/server manufacturing environment. Successful Greenfield, Brownfield, or Start up experienceinvolving building an engineering team and manufacturing systems as part of a matrixed manufacturing environment. upto 50% travel in the first 60-90 days for training and integration Must be a hands on and team oriented Strong communication and influence skills with various levels of of internal and external stakeholders Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Expert knowledge Engineering philosophies and processes Demonstratedexpertisein Manufacturing Support Systems and business process analysisUnderstanding and application ofbroadrange of industrial engineering tools (e.g., work measurement, simulation, process mapping, facilities and workstation design, operations research, etc.)Proventrack recordof successful change management accomplishments, implementing and management continuous improvements and cost reduction programsAbility to analyze problems,identifyrootcausesand provide efficient solutions.Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with good oral and written communication skills.Project management and team leadership experience with ability to work in a global matrix organizationDemonstrated ability to implement change and application of Lean and Six Sigma MethodologyWhat can Jabil offer you?
