The Chiropractor (PMRS Whole Health Supervisor): Provides clinical supervision for PMRS Whole Health clinicians across VA Portland Health Care System (VAPHCS) and Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOC). Oversees administrative aspects of Whole Health service delivery with the Whole Health Division. Serves as a Whole Health expert for program development and leadership. Delivers direct patient care within their professional scope. Portland is a port city in the Pacific Northwest and the most populous city in the U.S. state of Oregon. Situated in the northwestern area of the state at the confluence of the Willamette and Columbia rivers. Portland is known for having the amenities of a major city (such as an international airport, an efficient public transit system, major league sports teams and many museums and art galleries) and the charms of a small city (such as plentiful arts and crafts fairs, independent bookstores and local traditions like the annual Rose Festival Parade). Rain or shine, you can take advantage of the city's proximity to nature by playing in the Willamette River, wandering through lush public parks and gardens, biking the city's 162 miles (261 km) of bike lanes and hiking trails both within city limits and in the nearby Columbia River Gorge. Major Duties and Responsibilities Include but are not limited to: Clinical Supervision * Provides direct supervision for Whole Health clinical staff, including Physical Therapists, Physical Therapy Assistants, Occupational Therapy Assistants, Nurses, Psychologists, Social Workers, Peer Supports, Chiropractors, and Recreational Therapists. * Works under the leadership of the PMRS Clinical Manager to: * Develop and evaluate goals, and analyze workload to ensure clinician productivity and efficiency. * Ensure equitable workload distribution among clinicians. * Maintain sufficient knowledge of each clinician's duties, skills, and work environment. * Establish coverage plans to optimize patient care and resource utilization. * Use data reports to determine resource needs for clinical workload completion. * Instruct employees in tasks and techniques both orally and in writing. * Perform chart reviews to ensure compliance with documentation standards. * Identify and provide developmental training opportunities for clinical staff. * Conduct disciplinary actions, annual and semiannual appraisals, and annual competencies. * Perform weekly walk-throughs, initiate and follow up on work orders to ensure timely completion. * Provide oversight to the Clinical Education Coordinator and serve as clinical supervisor for students. Administrative Oversight * Fully knowledgeable of all policies and institutional goals related to Whole Health services delivery at VAPORHCS. * Ensures compliance with all national and local mandates and directives related to PMRS Whole Health care. * Ensures adequate space, equipment, and supplies for safe and competent delivery of Whole Health services. * Ensures optimization of encounters, stop codes, note titles, and workload/productivity capture measures. * Assists in developing department policies and procedures. * Participates in JC/CARF accreditation efforts related to Whole Health, meeting all required deadlines. * Monitors Veteran satisfaction reports (e.g., Medallia) to ensure services meet or exceed expectations. * Provides administrative coverage during the Clinical Manager's absence. * Acts as liaison between the Whole Health Division and PMRS to enhance communication and interdivisional efficiency. * Participates in recruitment, retention, and staff development for Whole Health; may serve as selecting official for hires. * Collaborates with Community Care to assist in the development of community-based Whole Health modalities. Whole Health Expertise * Develops and maintains broad experience and education in Whole Health best practices and current research. * Attends local and national trainings as directed by the PMRS Clinical Manager. * Educates health professionals and trainees on Whole Health principles and practices. * Serves as a liaison with local and national Whole Health experts to sustain professional expertise. * Participates on institutional committees and teams to provide Whole Health subject matter expertise.
