MISSION: It is the mission of the South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) to impact and transform young lives, strengthen families, and support safer communities through targeted prevention and rehabilitation.JOB PURPOSE:Under general supervision of the Program Manager I, will assist the inventory manager(s) for all supply aspects for the Central Warehouse, in addition to other areas that are responsible for receiving, distribution, storing, and inventory of goods needed to operate efficiently. Will work with the Special Projects team to coordinate and implement the relocation of SCDJJ staff personnel and programs. Will also be responsible for assisting with supervising the SCDC inmates, weekly recycle pick up, vehicle management, and weekly custodial duties.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Maintains the data in the department's internal database system to ensure all inventory is accounted for. To ensure we are providing the best customer services possible, this position will be responsible for tracking, ordering, and analyzing supplies to ensure it does not reach the minimum stock level.Receives goods and materials within warehouse operation. Verifies products to ensure stored goods are in a designated area. Reviews and delivers orders as requested by management. Obtains authorized signatures for goods and materials issued or delivered. Handles deliveries throughout SCDJJ for Central Warehouse. Supervises SCDC inmate labor as assigned.Works with the supply and special projects team to ensure that all inventory practices are being implemented and disbursed in the most efficient way possible. Maintains records and monitors compliance that are related to these duties. Follow up with customers to ensure the supply and services were up to par. Continually works on finding and implementing best practices for the agency regarding inventory and special projects i.e. walk through buildings/office locations, attend weekly meetings to collaborate with coworkers and provide feedback. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.Minimum and Additional RequirementsSTATE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:A high school diploma and work experience directly related to the area of employment.ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:Requires a working knowledge of supply practices and procedures. Knowledge of inventory control practices and procedures. Must be able to work to meet deadlines.Under general supervision of Program Manager I, work is performed in accordance with the Department policies and procedures.This position performs job duties relating to the custody, control, transportation, or recapture of youth within the jurisdiction of the Department of Juvenile Justice, and the employee may have direct and indirect contact with youth within the jurisdiction of the Department of Juvenile Justice. Training applicable to these duties will be provided. Must be able to bend, stoop, and lift up to 50lbs as needed or on a consistent basis. Ability to communicate effectively. Must have knowledge of Windows software. Valid driver's license required.Preferred QualificationsPREFERRED AGENCY REQUIREMENTS:A high school diploma and at least three years of work experience directly related to supply/warehouse practices.
