Job DescriptionAssociate Attorney - Medical Malpractice / Insurance Defense Location: Portland, OR / Vancouver, WA Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent About the Opportunity A highly respected law firm with offices in Portland and Vancouver is seeking an Associate Attorney with experience in Medical Malpractice and Insurance Defense to join their litigation team. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney licensed in Washington and Oregon who's looking to grow with a reputable, well-established firm that values professionalism, collaboration, and client advocacy. Key Responsibilities Handle all aspects of medical malpractice and insurance defense litigation from inception to resolution. Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and correspondence. Take and defend depositions, argue motions, and participate in mediations and arbitrations. Collaborate with partners, clients, and insurance representatives to develop strong case strategies. Manage court appearances, hearings, and trial preparation as needed. Qualifications Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school. Active bar membership in both Oregon and Washington strongly preferred (or willingness to obtain). Minimum 3-7 years of experience in medical malpractice, personal injury defense, or insurance defense litigation. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent analytical and organizational abilities with attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple files independently while working in a collaborative team environment.
