Discover a rewarding career at AJH, where you can make a meaningful impact within a close-knit community while advancing your professional growth within a thriving healthcare system.Are you ready to become a part of our dynamic team where you can grow and advance, all while making a difference in patient’s lives?Pain Center RNShift: Per Diem, DaysRole And ResponsibilitiesProfessional DevelopmentActively participates in departmental staff meetings and quality improvement initiatives.Maintains current licensure and certifications as per job description, and keeps current on assigned education and training tasks.Critical ThinkingUtilizes critical thinking skills and the teaching of evidence based practice.Follows Hand-Off Communication policy as appropriate.Nursing PracticePractices within the scope and service outlined in the Nurse Practice Act.Utilizes Standard Universal Precautions.Patient AdvocacyAdvocates for patients and families to ensure positive patient care outcomes.DocumentationDocuments in a timely and accurate manner.Documents all changes as well as relevant information regarding patient’s response to intervention, therapeutic regimens, and patient progress as it relates to plan of care and patient’s response to teaching.Patient CareEnsures that patient’s pain is well controlled.Responds to patient needs in a timely manner, including answering call lights.Patient CommunicationCommunicates effectively with patients, families peers and other members of the healthcare team.Includes patient, family, and care-givers in all aspects of care while ensuring that all explanations are understandable.AssessmentCompletes admission and on-going assessments based on patient needs within appropriate time frame.Identifies patient’s individual needs, problems, issues, concerns and considers chronological and developmental levels.PlanningDevelops an individualized nursing plan of care based on initial and on-going data collection.Ensures that the plan establishes realistic and attainable health goals with patient and family including educational and discharge needs.Provides resources to assist patients and families with post-discharge needs.ImplementationDemonstrates clinical competency and follows standards of care, policies and procedures.Implements patient education and discharge teaching appropriately utilizing “teach back” process.Interprets properly and implements physician’s orders.Clinical SpecialtyMaintains competency in Wound Center's specific testing and procedures.Follows departmental policies and procedures.Demonstrates competency in Hyperbaric Medicine.Functions effectively in the role of Case Manager within the Center.QualificationsRequired Skills:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable the individual to perform the essential functions.CommunicationMust possess verbal and written skills to communicate effectively and courteously with a diverse group of professional and non-professional members of the health care team, patients and family/significant others.Minimum EducationMust be a graduate of an accredited nursing program. The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. The pay range for this position is established and governed by the terms of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
