Pomperaug Woods is recruiting for a hospitality focused Prep Cook to join our team! This position is responsible for maintaining a superior level of quality service and cleanliness at all times. Here are a few of the daily responsibilities of a Prep Cook: * Assists production staff with preparation of ingredients for entrees. * Assists production in the preparation and service of various foods in assigned work situations including pantry items, soups, sauces, poultry and fish items. * Assists cooks in the preparation of basic dessert items as well as breakfast items for residents and patients. * Performs daily cleaning and sanitation tasks Here are a few of the qualifications we need you to have: * High school diploma * Work Experience: A minimum of six months experience as a prep cook in a hotel, restaurant, club, or similar institution. * Skills/Certification: Knowledge of kitchen equipment operations and maintenance. Some knowledge of nutrition and diet. Ability to plan and organize work, to interpret instructions, recipes, specifications and standards. * Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicates effectively, and performs simple arithmetic.
