Job Type Full-timeDescriptionJOB OVERVIEW:The Receptionist role is responsible for providing patient-oriented service in a back office setting; performs a variety of clerical and administrative duties related to the delivery of patient care and performing other back office duties as required in a fast-paced, customer-oriented clinical environment.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:Answer the telephone and handle calls in a timely and friendly manner including appropriate documentation of the callAll pre visit chart prepObtains insurance authorization and verifies coverage prior to patients appointment, notifies patient of the current statusManage all out going referralsWork effectively with procedure scheduler and clinic coordinatorCommunicate with physician's staff to insure quality of careMaintain operations by following policies and procedures ( HIPAA- OSHA)Other duties as assignedRequirementsQUALIFICATIONS/LICENSE:NoneEDUCATION:High School Diploma or equivalentEXPERIENCE:Minimum one year customer service experience in a medical office environment preferred but not requiredSKILLS:Excellent customer service skills.TeamworkComfortable working in fast paced environment.Ability to multitaskExcellent communication skills, both verbal and written.CPT codes and ICD-10 codingProficient with computer skills including experience with practice management software desired.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:The physical demands describe here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
