Job DescriptionJoin a leading company in the meat processing industry as a Maintenance Superintendent, where you will play a key role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our production operations. This position is responsible for supervising second shift maintenance teams, implementing training programs, and overseeing preventative maintenance to minimize downtime. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maintenance management, a commitment to safety, and experience in regulated environments. Responsibilities Supervise and support second shift maintenance supervisors and maintenance technicians, ensuring effective team performance. Implement and train new supervisors and hourly employees on maintenance procedures and safety protocols. Coordinate and schedule preventative maintenance (PM) for equipment to minimize production downtime. Collaborate with Human Resources on employee relations and disciplinary actions as needed. Monitor and enforce employee safety and ergonomic practices in compliance with company standards. Manage and delegate preventative maintenance programs, ensuring all work orders are completed on schedule. Schedule and verify completion of preoperational testing and inspection of equipment prior to production start. Inspect and evaluate the operating condition of all equipment in assigned areas, maintaining written schedules and reports for evaluations and repairs. Conduct weekly maintenance progress and safety meetings with direct reports, providing written documentation of discussions and action items. Utilize the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to its full capability for tracking and reporting maintenance activities. Perform hands-on maintenance tasks as required. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Minimum of 8 years of maintenance management experience. At least 5 years of supervisory experience, with experience managing supervisors preferred. Experience working with USDA regulations. Familiarity with SQF and HACCP standards. Experience in the meat industry (poultry, beef, or pork) is a plus. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and general computer skills. Ability to perform hands-on maintenance work as needed.
