A comprehensive multi-services organization in New York is currently seeking a CertifiedOccupational Therapy Assistant(COTA) to join one of their growing facilities in Westchester County.About the Opportunity:Setting:Article 16 ClinicSchedule:Monday to FridayHours:9am to 5pm or 8am to 4pmPatient Population:Adults (Ages 18+)EMR:PrecisionCareResponsibilities:The CertifiedOccupational Therapy Assistant(COTA) will:Reviewmedical records and verifyMDs orders and the Occupational Therapists assessment prior to implementing OT treatmentCommunicatewith supervisor regarding persons receiving services in the areas of cognitive/perceptual skills, sensor-motor, musculoskeletal status, etc.Conferwith Physician and other Healthcare Practitioners to obtain additional information on persons receiving servicesWritespecific, objective, and measurable documentation, which is outcome oriented and details the persons receiving services needs, potential to benefit from treatment, and progress achieved to dateProvidetraining to persons receiving services, families and/or direct care staff in specific supportive programsParticipateand attendcare plan/team meetings as needed for persons receiving OT servicesImplementa treatment plan, includingROM, therapeutic exercise, cognitive/perceptual re-training, ADL, wheelchair mobility, pre-vocational skills, and application of physical agent modalitiesHandle other duties, as neededQualifications:Bachelor's DegreeGraduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant schoolNYS CertifiedOccupational Therapy Assistant(COTA)licenseKnowledge in the use of mobility devices and therapeutic exercisesMicrosoft Office proficientGreat interpersonal skillsExcellent communication skills (written and verbal)Strong attention to detailHighly organizedDesired Skills:Experience with wheelchair assessmentExperience working with people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities
