Compensation: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 On-Site - Plano, TX - Monday - Friday 8AM - 5PM CST Benefits: Medical, Vision, and Dental Retirement: 401K & Pension w/4% Match PTO: 15 DaysThe Internal Controls Specialist will be responsible for the execution and support of Graham Healthcare Group’s (GHG) quarterly and annual SOX compliance program.This body of work can include the testing of in scope internal controls, updating of process and control narratives, completion of risk assessments, implementation of controls around merger and acquisition activity and deficiency management. As part of supporting the SOX program, this role will work closely with various departments and will be responsible for maintaining a positive working relationship.I nternal Controls Specialist Responsibilities:Maintenance of quarterly and annual SOX/Graham requirements in accordance with established schedules and deadlinesAssist with annual SOX testing requirements, which include testing of existing and newly implemented controlsCreate accurate and detailed audit work papers clearly describing the work performed, results of testing, and conclusions reachedPerform weekly and quarterly monitoring’sAssist in the definition of remediation plans, activities and retesting for potential issues and process improvement opportunities.Maintain current knowledge regarding changes to SOX compliance regulations and ensure that GHG adjusts methodologies in response to the changes by drafting guidance and instructions to the appropriate stakeholders and personnel.Assist with various ITGC compliance requirements which could include:Assist in the performance of semi-annual User Responsibility Matrix reviews for core systemsReviewing audit logs and implementing corrective actions where neededMaintenance of internal control documentation (policies, procedures, narratives, test plans, etc.)Assist in completion of annual assessments related to systems including disaster recovery and sensitive data evaluationsDetermine and recommend improvements to current risk management controls as needed.Assist management with updates to the control environment to align with system implementations and system changes ensuring alignment with identified risksAbility to travel no more than 10% of the timeInternal Controls Specialist Qualification & Requirements To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. 2-3 years of audit experience and control testingCPA certification is highly desirableDemonstrated knowledge of the financial reporting process and internal control over financial reporting (ICFR)Familiarity with reviewing and understanding the components of SOC 1/SSAE 18 reportsInternal Controls Specialist Education & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Accounting or FinanceFamiliarity with Sarbanes-Oxley requirementsExperience within the Healthcare industry preferredStrong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPointStrong technical and analytic aptitudeAbility and willingness to learn quicklyExtremely detail-orientedExcellent organizational and planning skillsPhysical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
