Job Title: Shop MechanicDepartment:Maintenance / Fleet Services Reports To:Shop Supervisor Location:Roth Trucking 2135 Dakota Craft Dr Rapid City SD 57701 Employment Type:Full-Time Wage Range:$20.00 $40.00 per hour (depending on experience and certifications) Position Summary:Roth Trucking, Inc. is seeking a skilled and dependableShop Mechanicto perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on company vehicles and equipment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with diesel engines, heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and related systems. This position is essential to keeping our fleet safe, compliant, and operational. Key Responsibilities:Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on trucks, trailers, and related equipment. Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using diagnostic tools and manuals. Complete brake jobs, engine repairs, transmission servicing, tire replacements, and other mechanical tasks. Maintain accurate service records and complete repair orders using UpKeep or other maintenance platforms. Ensure all work is done in compliance with DOT regulations, OSHA safety standards, and company policies. Communicate with the Shop Supervisor regarding needed repairs, parts, and work timelines. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Assist in emergency repairs or on-call duties as needed. Participate in ongoing training and certification programs. Qualifications:High school diploma or GED required; trade school or technical certification preferred. Minimum 2 years of experience in a heavy-duty truck or diesel repair environment. Familiarity with diagnostic tools and repair procedures for diesel engines, brakes, suspension, and electrical systems. Valid driver's license required; CDL is a plus. Ability to lift 50+ lbs. and perform physically demanding work in various weather conditions. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety and quality.
