Psychiatric - Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Adelphi is seeking a Nurse Practitioner (NP) to provide care at a correctional facility in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The ideal candidate will provide psychiatric treatment to inmate patients, and supervise the psychiatric care of assigned inmate patients under treatment by other clinicians while ensuring adherence to standards of care and practice.Job Quick Facts: • Ref#: BD-614-01 • Profession: Nurse Practitioner (NP) • Location: Santa Fe, NM • Job Type: Contract • Facility Type: Correctional facility • Coverage Type: Clinical + Tele • Shift schedule :TBC • Rate: $85/hrRequirements: • Active unrestricted NM License • BC/BE • BLS • ACLSResponsibilities: • Performs psychiatric evaluations of inmate-patients. • Review result of lab and other diagnostic tests. • Prescribe treatment and a follow-up plan for mental health problems. • Document results of psychiatric examinations, diagnoses and treatments in the individual inmate-patient's medical record. • Participate in studies of major health problems affecting inmates and make recommendations to the Health Services Administrator (HSA). • Obtain written informed consent from inmate-patients for psychotropic medications upon evaluation. • Provide psychiatric information to the multi-disciplinary treatment team to assure continuity of prescribed treatment and programmatic function of the patient. • Provide psychiatric treatment in compliance with all established standards and departmental procedures under the supervision of the Medical Director. • Perform other duties as assigned.
