Surgery - General Nurse Practitioner

Coverage Needed Start Date: January 2026 End Date: July 2026 (possibly longer) Schedule: Full Time 4 week day shifts per week 2 shifts: 7:00 am - 7:00 pm 2 shifts: 7:00 am - 3:00 pm Call 1 weekend every 3 weeks (24 hour call) 1-2 weeknights per week (7:00 pm - 7:00 am) Clinical Details Specialty: Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery APP EMR: EPIC Primarily Inpatient Call: 1-2 weekday calls/week and 1 in 3 weekends Support Staff: Surgeons, fellow APCs, nursing Responsibilities: CVSICU post-op patient resuscitation, nursing and patient calls from home, weekend inpatient rounding, responding to stat consults/change in clinical status, emergent OR cases Procedures: Chest Tube Placement, Endoscopic Vein Harvesting (EVH) Capable, Cardiothoracic and vascular surgery, CVSICU, floor management, inpatient consults, outpatient office coverage Patient Encounters per Shift: 10-20 60 day credentialing Requirements Certifications: ACLS/BLS Vaccination: Influenza vaccine may be declined if practitioner wears mask per health system policy Licensure: open to licensing and active license candidates No less than a 3 month commitment, preferably 6 months Required Experience: Chest tube placement, skilled in open and endoscopic vein harvest .Prefer open radial artery harvest Must be available full time and able to take call
